  1. Thanks, but @Gnashes does most of the work I just chip in when I have time.
  2. Was not necessarily directed towards you. 99% of admin applications contain some version of "I owned/was an admin for X server". I only chose gmod because you mentioned it in the OP.
  3. Nobody is roasting you. You asked why we don't implement something, and we responded by explaining how our system works, and why your idea doesn't really fit into it.
  4. It's not even remotely the same. In an animal shelter, you take care of helpless animals that otherwise would not have a chance in life and work to ensure that they get placed with a loving family. As an Asylum admin, you deal with entitled children that think that their issues are more important than anyone else's, players that can't seem to figure out how not to be assholes, developers that don't tell you anything, etc. And in return, the only thing you get is having the game's fun ruined for you. It just so happens that those with careers and families tend to be more trustworthy than a 15 year old kid that runs a gmod server on the side. And the result is that people don't walk around Asylum worrying about killing an admin and getting banned.
  5. I don't remember if the new nametag system is compatible with the changes I made back then, but I'll take a look and make the change if possible. As for the UI changes, well... Yea... I want to do some work to modernize it a bit, but I don't know how much I can get away with without getting yelled at and all of my work reverted.
  6. Anders, talk to me buddy. What went wrong with your life?
  7. Also, keep in mind that Paratus, Bamf, Gnashes and I are not kids. We all work for a living. Gnashes works 60 hour weeks, Bamf travels, and Paratus and I are both software engineers for a living. Sometimes the last thing we want to do is come home and look at more code all night long. Also I'm extremely addicted to a certain game at the moment so I haven't been contributing at all.
  8. I've been out for the last ~2 months, and it has basically been Gnashes holding things down on his own. Also, a bug that literally can not affect more than 5 people at any given time is not a very high priority.
  9. That's what this is for. Except it's permanent, not once a month. http://www.gaming-asylum.com/forums/index.php?/forum/78-exploitbug-reporting/
  10. As I said in the other topic, that will likely require a decision from @bamf or @Paratus.
  11. I'll put the feigning in today, so it should make it into the next hotfix.
  12. Oh god, I'll fix this game breaking bug immediately.
  13. I have to disagree. While there are times where we definitely do benefit from outside contributors, on the whole, I think making the repo public would be a bad idea. Part of the problem is that we don't just need code that works, we need good code. SQF is a retarded language, and as such, attracts retarded code. Paratus and I are both software engineers for a living, and there have still been many times where we've both been stuck shaking our heads and saying "wtf Bohemia?" That said, if you could see some of the code that people have sent us to "fix" things, or even some of the really old contributor code (both in the mission, and on the website), you'd probably cry. The time it would take for us to review, understand, and test the code (meaning make sure it doesn't regress anything else) would probably take just as long as it would for us to write it ourselves. And that's without wasting our time on the bad code that would be submitted. It's a nice idea in theory, but it wont happen.
  14. That's not how it works. There is an issue with cloudflare that I've been trying to get in contact with @Paratus to fix, but that's not it...
  15. Yeah, if it's actually able to be disabled by a few shots from an SDAR, that's something that definitely needs to be fixed.
  16. I tried. Paratus said no.
  17. I would venture to say that the average American does not work 90 hours a week to support their family. That was the logic behind my comment. Regardless, props for doing whatever you have to do to support your family. Not going to knock you for that!
  18. I do. What I do not care about, however, are the people that constantly complain on the forums, yet offer no better alternatives that "give us more money" or "make x easier." Don't you worry your sweet little head, though. I'm going to run an idea by @bamf that should make drug running a little more fair for the "less skilled" pilots.
  19. Wtf you need a different job. Feel free to play somewhere else.
  20. Sounds like it's working as intended to me.
  21. Not true. It's a Bohemia issue, and it happens on almost all servers. We just have significantly more scripts, making it faster and more noticeable.
  22. https://www.amazon.com/
  23. It's constantly being worked on. When we focused on performance for several weeks straight, people started complaining about that too. There is a middle ground.
