Add more server capacity

to get into server 2 today it was about an hour and a half wait and it kept saying i was joining but i kept getting bumped out by others

No. Servers are already laggy enough. Just spam enter like the rest of us.

right? 100 person server is already HUGE. any bigger would be inefficient and expensive.

Its only a problem on the weekends particularly Sunday because people usually go out Saturday but Sunday they are home playing games. During the week there is no problem getting in.

yea sunday is pretty aids with the lag because of new ppl trying our server for the first time since they are done partying and see a very active altis life server.

Clearly you have not been here long.. It wasn't that long ago that you used to have to spam for hours on weekdays to get in - count yourself lucky.

It was years ago but its true servers used to be full 24/7 all week long. You had to use AHK to spam enter for you 15-20 min usually

once they switch it from scripts to mods there shouldnt be the same type of lag. At that point then they can add more slots. Untill then the servers lag / desync is too much as is

100 users is already pushing the limits of the server side software. Desync can be super shitty at times as it is (IMO pingkick should be 185ms absolute max)

we have a LOT of players from Australia, SEA region, Chinese, Taiwanese, Arab countries. They get like 300 ping.

I know. its a double edged sword. I was just stating its a difficult problem to have. either you deal with the desync, or lose players. I was more using this as a illustration why more slots would only make matters much worse.

Yes, Prior to changes that were made on the server I used to be at 260-300 ping constantly, and I still was not lagging as some people are today.


As of now I sit on 140-160 Ping, in a game like arma it is not that bad at all.

Noooo I live in shitty Arkansas and I get about 150 to almost 200 sometimes. My internet is shit.

I fr get 1mb up and 10 down lol. It's ridiculous. Takes me almost 3 hours upload a 5 min video.

You really don't know the struggle, used to get like 300 kb/s down and even less up, a 5 min video was not possible.

When I came to America I remember finding this modem in the garbage someone threw a working one out in the city!

SupraFAXModem 14400, 1440 baud modem it was a big boost from my 

9.6kilobit modem built into my 486 IMB dx2 pc

I would only use text internet and porn had to be downloaded first and only images no video.

I would come back from school open the browser and load maybe 30 text pages with my favorite sites and forums and go make food for 10 min or so until it loaded the pages. 

This was in 2001 faster stuff was available but too expensive some people already had cable internet but I was still on 14.4 kilo/bits per second internet haha. 

After that 56k modems were cheap enough for me to buy and that was already pretty fast you could load images and stuff and even stream some super low res cartoons and stuff. 

So yea your connection is fine

con confirm got cable internet for AT&T ( i know weird) in 2001. 1.5 down 512k up. It was ludicrous speeds!
