    APD Responds to Bank Robberies
What was once thought of as an insurmountable task , now looks like a ray of hope in a bleak fog.
Our last edition highlighted the string of bank robberies plaguing the country and the APD's inability to successfully respond accordingly.
Since that expose the Altis Police Department stepped up its recruiting campaign and hired a surprisingly large and adept group of cadets.
We all now some will not make it but the hopes of the Department seems to be on getting more boots on the ground to quell any insurrections that could have been funded
by these robberies, our investigative reporter IceVenom sent us a report on one of the notorious groups that have taken part in these robberies :
" 3:03 AM after the bank of Altis has closed a notorious gang known as "Drunk Squad" has broken into the bank armed to the teeth and waiting for a fight. Multiple fatalities at the bank including many police officers. After a long fight on the bank roof the officers lost yet another fight to the criminals. The criminals managed to make away with around 100 thousand dollars in bank notes."
Our reporters will continue to investigate the perpetrators and attempt to shed some light on the motives of the individuals in question. We will be bringing you continuous updates on this story.  We would also like to thank our reporters and officers risking their lives for the safety of the Country and to bring you the most telling news.

    Where are all the Fish?
The fish seemed to have disappeared from most of Altis's markets
this seems to have stemmed from an influx of citizens steering away from lawful
work to unlawful work. With the new wave of officers patrolling the streets , will we see an increase
in fish production? or will the staple food of the country become a scarcity leaving the citizens to sustain themselves
with grains and fruits. We cannot directly pinpoint the reasons but the ANN feels confident in its assessment and conclusion.

    Seismic Activity Wreaking Havoc
    Across The Country
Across all of Altis residents are awoken and startled by a large measurable increase in seismic activity
homes are being destroyed , and contractors are out in full force repairing and replacing the damage, the Governor has failed to comment on the the disaster response and
the end to these nightmarish quakes  is no where in sight. The ANN urges all citizens to drive and walk with caution to avoid injury, the Medical examiner's office has issues a statement advising all citizens to seek medical attention upon any injuries to avoid prolonged disabilities. Anyone who has experience in the field of seismology is urged to assist in any capacity.

This Concludes our 3rd edition of our Paper. We do want to apologize for the brevity of this edition as the new transition into a country wide news network has had a profound effect on our reporters who have been in the process of relocation to major cities across the country. We look forward to providing you with some news  footage on our next edition and urge our citizens and police force to participate in our reporting and news casting.

Running for a promotion I see.
On topic: It's on the players to learn the basics - not you as a cop to teach them. If you can tell they are new then, by all means, go easy on them but I wouldn't go out of my way to fund someone who will be in Kavala in 30 minutes pistol banging people. Also, I wouldn't break role-play to help a newer person out.

In class, we were watching it live up until the collapse and the teacher shut the TV off. My town's EMS sent an ALS rig down to NYC to help cover calls shortly after.

I'll never forget watching the new station when it happened live. I can't remember the network. But every morning I would watch the news before I headed off to school. Mind you there were only a few channels at this time. When I sat there, I could not believe what I had just watched as they had the live shot of the trade centers on the screen getting ready to head to a commercial break or some sort, I'll never forget the screams from the live video. The newscasters had no idea what to do. It was like the whole world froze that day.

Obviously would not incriminate myself by uploading a video exploiting. I asked prior to this to multiple moderators/admins and the concencus was that you cannot 'meat shield' as an APD officer, beacuse police cuffs do not allow the player in the cuffs to be damaged in any way, ultimately giving you a person an invincible shield. In this case, I am playing as a civilian who put the person in generic restraints that down/kill the person when they are shot at.
Maybe you should read the APD guildbook @Tony., ...... but that's none of my business.

And Bamf has just become a co-owner of Asylum with Paratus. It's finally time; all the hard work, sweat, and some tears, Bamf has finally landed a major position as co-lead developer for Asylum. Paratus' is promising big things, the adrenaline is getting to him as he now has someone to help him develop this RP server, and to Bamf. It starts off well for Bamf. He's active with the community talking about changes to ban policies, updating the community on the massive BE kicks, says they plan to work on fixing this. He even breaks it down, gives numbers/insight to the problem until he realizes nothing he has done has mattered. Bohemia make the mistake of saying "it's us, not you" and that's when it starts to go downhill....
Gnashes appears out of nowhere, right beside Bamf's side, "the problem isn't on us, it's Bohemia's fuckup" becomes his go-to line very quickly. He becomes the Sam to Bamf's Frodo willing to help carry the burden of this community. BIS has said they found a fix for the BE kicks, but it fails. Bamf scrambles to Server 4 with its more downtime than uptime, trying his hardest to fix the issues. Gnashes continues to talk about his 60 hour work weeks and why there hasn't been an update for a month or more. Bamf claims he found the solution, remove Server 2, move the S4 information to 2, and that'll solve it. Gnashes gains an extra 50lbs licking up the salt of all the S2 people. Bamf has to scramble frantically to calm the situation... There's talks of an update coming soon.....
But as all good stories go, a simple talent tree for rebels would be too easy. Instead, let's rework how the illegal drug areas work first. Did you spend 800k - 1mil on that 3 crate meth house? that's cute, because fuck you. To add with the RNG of our lootcrate boxes, we wanted to throw some more randomness in there and rework the drug fields. Heroin, coke, and meth all now rotate! And not only that, whenever you're logged in, there's a 100% guarantee it won't be on your side! And server just restarted, so feel free to check back in 3hours from now. The walls of Asylum begin to crumble. People begin to ramble about the recent changes, the constant lag and desync. Talks of another RolePlay Island start to become more than just whispers. People begin to question their allegiance to Asylum, wondering "what's it all for?"
Then it hits. The news. Rebel. Talent. Tree. It gets announced that it's being worked on. People begin to spam their POGGERS and hope arises. The news of a RBT being worked on spreads far and wide, calling back people who left the world of Asylum to return home. Could this really be it? Could this be true? "Be patient" "stay calm" "it's coming soon" "it's coming September 5" () are on repeat by devs and admins alike. The playerbase begin to grow weary as time moves on with no updates, people are beginning to get skeptical once again... There is only one question that remains...
@Poseidon have you come to save us, or have you doomed us all?

Asylum Devs = inactive = pop dying
Olympus Devs = Active = pop growing
staff are generally shit on all servers because they do it for free and it generally attracts megalomaniacs, on all servers it really comes down to the devs and owners putting in the work and passion.

The beauty of it is that I prefer this type of lite RP, I can play regularly and also build a story on the forums. The harder rp servers are a lot more uptight about everything else to make it fun. I appreciate the feedback, its not much work, mostly just trying to write this in a newsy sounding format , other than that i enjoy the shit out of it

Ghosthawks aren’t pulled much there and are discouraged from just being used unnecessarily plus they’re Sgt+ only. But civs can also get them at blackwater plus a lot more. Defibs aren’t really a necessity either as medics actually do their job there because they’re whitelisted. For cartels, search & rescue can drop dope crates which I do often when I’m playing medic over there.
The hardest thing for me to adjust to when I first started playing over there was the 15 min NLR since I was used to going right back to the fight on Asylum. But even NLR has its pros as it lets you steal people’s stuff after you wipe them and their friends without worry of them coming back instantly. Plus as I said, if you’re not watching their bodies, a whitelisted medic will roll in quietly and revive them (I do this a lot and it’s pretty hilarious).
As of now, Olympus is much better run than Asylum and personally I have more fun there. One downside is the median age seems to be lower there so you get a lot of edgy kids there.

There's other reasons, at least for my self. There's no defibs on there, epi pens don't cut it for me. Cops have ghosthawks that have ammo, while civs have titans to counter them. I believe both of those are just unnecessary. There's a few other things keeping me from playing Olympus but I assure you it's not that I would have to start over.
