A better alternative would be Cop "events" that can be triggered by cops like transporting guns or drugs with an active ping on the map, that is a high risk high reward for civs but they dont necessarily have to go and fight.

Alright randy i get it, you're smarter then me...

  2. @Defragments @Dick Romney Please dont bring your arguments to this thread... I just would like feedback on my suggestion and I thank you Dick Romney for your feedback. I wanted to try and make it so that cops have the easy fight at the event... if it takes place on Channel 4 news then rebels have to push up a very steep hill... also if rebels wanted to return to the fight then they would have to spawn kavala and go to kavala rebel, making it somewhat useful... Also they APD would have ample amounts of time to set up for this event due to most rebel activities being positioned east and south.

    Thank you

I just don’t like the idea of having to do something on civ. Say somebody wants to do a bank at 3 in the morning. If they do it, they need to add another 30-45 minutes before they can go to bed, else they lose stuff from their house.

When you log into cop, you’re acknowledging that stuff may pop up that you have to do. Civ is designed to be much more casual, even as a rebel.

I see, but I didnt want anyone to lose anything in their houses or what not... this would just be a temporary freeze on their bank and access to their house.

But I can see how this can prevent the luxury of civ life. Thanks for the feedback

Nah, a big draw of civ is freedom. You can choose to fight cartels, you can choose to BH, you can choose to AFK, you can choose to log off immediately after spamming to get into the server for 30 minutes. Forcing rebels to do something like this would take that away.

I understand. But I have just a small counter argument to that... This would be only something that a rebel would put themselves through. You would be aware of this being a possible scenario after you have succeeded a fed/bank/prison/or evidence locker. You choose to rob a bank you chose to be put on the "Most Wanted" list?

Do you still think that it would be a bad idea @Bandit

  5. So i've been noticing a common theme per say a lot of APD officers have been stating. Im not going to quote a specific player but the overall statement is something along these lines... "How come its fair for the APD to have to respond to all these events and the rebels always have the advantage"... (This isnt the views of everyone on the APD so dont @ me) This got me thinking and what if there was an event that the rebels "HAD" to respond to...

What if... you were spotted by the cameras at either the fed/bank/prison/or evidence locker. The APD has done its research on the facial recognition picked up at the robbery. With a quick background check they were able to determine where you live, which bank you use, and other valuable information. You get word from someone working with the APD that they are going to go live with this information. You must quickly (10-15min) stop the APD from broadcasting your record from Channel 4 News across all the screens of Altis. If you fail to successfully stop the APD, your house(s) will be under heavy surveillance and your bank account will be seized. (will not be able to use either for 30min - Rebel)

There can be other punishments but I think its time for the cops to have an "advantage". I think the evidence locker was an attempt to give cops an advantage but once again that is started by the rebels... There should be an event that cops can start...

Open for all kinds of opinions... I'm just trying to give input to level the playing grounds for both rebels and cops... if you dont like the idea thats fine, but please tell me why so i dont repeat further down the road

Suggestion - Police cannot enter a red turf, unless in active pursuit. They must attempt to leave the area if they are present when it turns red. Pretty annoying when they show up with 15 every single time people are fighting over it. @Azeh @DarkKnight @Mitch (IFRIT)

It has to happen, either by guidebook, or server rules or whatever. It is supposed to be a rebel vs rebel fight.

So what your telling me... is if two fractions were fighting each other in a town... no government would decided to get involved to help save those "civilians" caught in the crossfire???

I dont know, doesn't sound very RP if cops didnt show up...

So what you be saying is the police who enforce laws on the island of Altis should just sit idly by while a bunch of rebels break countless laws in a city on the island of Altis to further benefit them in other illegal activities?  Makes perfect sense to me.

I didnt see this post before I made mine, but pretty much the same views... +1

  7. If you make it so that only one event can go off at a time thats gonna cause a lot of problems the APD/Rebels probably dont want to deal with including:

    1) Gangs who wanted to do (Bank, Fed, Evidence, or Prison) will most likely end up going to the ongoing event due to the fact they cannot do their own event.

    2) What if someone spends 5min doing a smash and grab just to get out with 2 to 3 bars for all other events to be on cooldown for 30min?

    3) This one is from personal experience, not sure if it happens to others. If a gang is setting up for a bank or a fed and on of the other goes off, now you have all the materials needed for such event and have to hold those without getting caught by cops or getting killed by other rebels you may encounter.

To me I think that the balance of time between cooldowns are fine. i dont play enough cop anymore to really have much say.
