  1. I feel like this is one of -those- issues where there are solutions that sound great but so many challenges that make it really complicated. Principal of which, some people step away from the PC for long periods of time - military deployments, health issues, stuff like that. What is/isn't an acceptable reason not to play arma 3 roleplay game? Who will govern that? How will you verify the integrity of peoples' claims? If you set a bare minimum then people will just log on and AFK just enough to meet that minimum, I don't think it's gonna have some revolutionary effect. IMO, with the few extreme examples that I've heard about where this stuff is going on with sheds/v good location houses and has been for many many months, it may just require someone taking the plunge and just taking it and auctioning it off, returning the proceeds to the original owner. Yeah they will cry but it's on them. And if they are active enough they can win their own house back in the auction.

Seems to be a new trend to start a jewelry emporium, get the to the stage where the qilin spawns, go take the qilin to a safe non-cop zone (cartel, shed, et cetera) and leave it with 1 guy preventing a despawn. Then start a new federal event so all the cops have to go respond to that instead so you can pull up to African warlord and sell everything for free, leaving almost no risk in selling at warlord Anyone who has to stinge fed events on here in 2023 belongs on a list. But in the interim might it be possible to prevent new federal events from starting while the Qilin is active, and/or have it explode or otherwise be indisposed after x (30?) minutes of having spawned in?
  4. I wasn't going to say anything because I'm not really bothered if this gets added, given it will be trendy for about a week and then will happen once a generation thereafter. But it seems to be getting mentioned a lot so I would bring up these issues: Isn't the biggest complaints from cops these days that they are stuck always doing back-to-back federal events when the server is busier? Why would they be motivated to just add another to the list? If there are 10 cops, including 2 LTs on, chances are the events are just gonna get started again as soon as the cooldown is over. Locking it behind 10 cops and minimum 2 LTs is gonna make it very rare - including for the reason said above. It also has the potential for an incredible variance in difficulty. One day, 4/5 different gangs of 6+ people will fight over it, another literally nobody on the server will care. How could you possibly balance the payout of risk/reward for that? Your list of "the only things [you] can do" is the entire point of the APD as a roleplay faction. Combat is instigated by rebels and responded to by the police, that's the objective. Why should the APD be reducing its RP contribution to the server? What value does this add? How do you allocate SWAT? Considering there's no way of measuring who will attack, how do you propose to narrow the firepower gap? One VDM and it's all over. Also one RPG/vest/speedbomb/remote and it's all over. That truck is gonna look enticing from the cockpit of a buzzard This sounds like it would be a fun admin event. But I can't think of any way to make the proposals in this thread happen as they are presented.
  5. Ski is a great guy! One of the better and more active admins we had. Capable of playing/seeing the perspective of both factions and not concerned about banning big names when they screwed up. Of course he will get targeted as a result of this. Hope asylum doesn't get to a point where playing in game is one of the discouraged things an admin can do and we get stuck with the guys who disappear for months on end or just play cop in private channels.

    S2 SRT

    +1 from me, this is how it should've been from the start, it was always a weird idea imposing a "roleplay faction" onto a combat-only server. People not being allowed on SRT because they are kicked off cop for their roleplay points and people not being allowed on roleplay cop because they bullied an LT who went crying - should not be creating more barriers to people who want to play only 1 of the 2....

    No worries dude just get on civ, buy hatchbacks and carry on doing it anyway. APD policy update extending their "authority" to s2 will solve this issue from ever happening again I am sure

  11. Gang fort is cringe, time to delete. Or just ditch the player # and let it be a cringe free for all. Almost every time someone actually fights it you get sweaty freaks crying that they lost their roleplay rebel outpost on the 9 year old game because somebody was 0.000000000000000000000001 meters closer than they should have been at X time or Jack's father's cousin's pet tortoise was at sofia rebel for more than 15 seconds so that means he was camping. Good idea, but the community is too autistic to make it work , scrap the cap gay shit and give gang fort as a domination victory reward

  14. What I am just struggling to understand is surely a few weeks after a wipe the server will just be back to the state it was in prior to the wipe, albeit with lower numbers? I cannot understand how the server could be wiped effectively without significant changes to the server, money in general and the like so that it's actually different. If domination continues to make money out of thin air and passive income continues to exist we are surely just doing the same thing again? The only thing I do see a wipe fixing is the prime real estate hoarding problems that I know people in the meeting talked about alot, but is that not easily fixable by some of the hour requirement/inactive property tax suggestions being implemented or just refunding the people and taking the sheds being held by hoarders for 1+ year who barely play 1 hour a month on the server? tl'dr: I don't think a wipe is gonna have any significant impact at all apart from lower playercount even more, unless it comes with significant update or set of updates that entices people to come back and start again. Also unbanning cheaters comes across as really desperate, but that's a whole other argument
  15. This sounds like it would be a cool thing to add for civs and allow for putting it on air vehicles and such. But for cops? No thank you. Nothing screams roleplay faction more than turning someone's engine off at 300kph while they are getting away in my book
