  1. @Bag Of FunyunsWe are currently looking into a way to help handle most rule breaks in game between players. Now obviously this would be for small rule breaks and stuff that are accidents like a player accidentally vdming someone going down the road and not for malicious rule breaks. There is still some kinks to figure out but I’m sure more information will be posted about it when it’s completed.

    Far as the original point of this post, if there are cheaters or mass RDMers on the server you can open your phone and send a message to staff through there. Most of the time we are able to come over and handle the situation. Messages in side chat get missed a lot as a bunch of people are always typing in it. If it is super early in the morning then a staff member may not be around but almost any other time during the day someone should be around. If you lose anything due to a rule break you can always make a player report to receive compensation. Unfortunately there are people out there that just want to ruin the fun for others and are gonna break rules. We try our best to take care of those people as fast as possible but there is only so many staff members and a bunch of people on the server in different locations. We can only be at one place at a time. 
     

    Note: This is just me giving some input as a admin to help give you a solution for the time being. A developer will make an official decision regarding your suggestion.

  2. APD Convoy Event

    The Staff Team will be hosting a APD Convoy Event Tuesday (08/13/2024) at 6PM CST on Server 1. To join the event you will simply just show up and fight with a group.

    How the Event will work:

    The APD will start at a unknown location and be transporting evidence to another unknown location. These locations will be announced as the event goes on. Officers will be able to use any gear at their rank and all officers must use lethals at all times (Better gear may be handed out). The objective for officers is to protect the hemmit that is filled with evidence and get it from Point A to Point B. Civilians/Rebels objective is to steal the truck and drive it to the nearest Rebel outpost. Whoever the winning group is will receive a payout of $1 mil or more depending on how many people turn up to the event.  The truck will be a KOS zone anyone found around the truck for up to 500m can be shot by anyone.

    (Note: Anything above is subject to change by the Staff Team to help even out the fight)

    Rules:

    (Any rules broken will result in being admin jailed or a Event Disruption Ban)

    1. No explosives are to be used on the convoy truck, they are allowed to be used on other vehicles though.
    2. You cannot purposely blow up the transport vehicle or destroy it by using any method. (Watering, shooting with armed vehicle, etc..)
    3. All officers must use lethals at all times, cadets may down but cannot restrain. They must either have a Constable+ come shoot the guy or they must leave them.
    4. Officers are not to seize any vehicles or disarm any civilians/rebels during the event. 
    5. Medics are allowed to attend but cannot chose a side they must help everyone there. As a medic you must wait till combat is over in that area before you revive.
    6. You cannot kill medics unless they are reviving a guy that you have told them not to revive. (Do not body camp)

    Note: If there is a good turnout and players still want more events after the convoy then additional events may take place.

  3. As it’s been stated in past suggestions on this topic, we cannot ram or s1 vehicles as arma sucks and people will just blow up and die so this is why cops are able to use spike in vehicles. I don’t know if you have been a cop but to deploy spikes there is about a 3 second delay from when you hit they button to drop and when they actually drop so it takes a little bit of skill to time it correctly. It’s pretty easy to avoid getting spiked, if you see a cop drive in front of you turn a different direction off the road. Most cops only carry one spike and if it misses they have to stop and go back and grab it each time they drop it.

    So I wanna just ask what your vision is on this if you have one. I think this could be a good idea obviously up to the devs but idk how this might work building wise. The problem is that we have to use what arma has made for us so we can’t create a whole new building. I could stack walls and make hallways all day but most of the time it gets messed up on importing or just looks like shit lmao. Do you have any ideas, only thing I could think of is possible doing a city way out somewhere or like a compound that you spawn in and we can just make it where if a heli tries to fly over they get shot down?

  5. So first I wanna thank you for actually taking the time and writing out a suggestion that isn’t 2 sentences long and if this doesn’t get approved please don’t let this discourage you from doing the same in the future. 
     

    So to be honest with you I don’t know everything with how some of the moonshine stuff works but I’m gonna hit on a few points that you made. So regarding the tractor, we currently have a gardening truck in the game that is a off-road that you can buy at the truck shop (should be called gardening truck in game) where if I’m not wrong it will grab up things like corn when you are in field around the bushes. Again I haven't used it so idk the ins and outs.

    I don’t think we need to have specific corn fields since corn is all over the place just like barely is.

    Regarding your point in risk and the intensive process, moonshine was nerfed after the patch as it was making too much money for the risk. We have a team of developers that look deeply into the numbers and calculate risk vs reward and make changes to sell prices. So to give you a little bit of a back story pre wipe we had issues with player interaction. If you add to many things for people to make really good money then people aren’t interacting and it becomes stagnant fast. With moonshine you can make it anywhere in the map as something like herion or coke or scotch you have to go to the same place every time which adds more risk. If you want less risk you make less money basically. I will say to help you can take of measurements of how much time it takes you to do each thing. For instance:

    Gathering a truck load of Corn: 30 min

    Getting yeast and water from the store: 15 min

    Processing a truck load of moonshine: 30 mins

    Driving to sell: 20 mins

    This are definitely not accurate but you get the point. If you do this please be honest if you can drive and hit every rock and that slows you down take a little bit of time off or if something out of the ordinary happens. We know the times are going to vary but this helps and saves us a lot of time when trying to look into something like this.

  6. I think just saying it is dumb is not going to get you anywhere on getting something change. If you genuinely don't agree with something then put in a little bit of effort on explaining why. Maybe even through in some situations that you have had to help people understand your point of view. 

  7. I think it’s a really cool idea but I just don’t think this is gonna happen for multiple reasons. With creating a big model like that that’s attached to the ifrit it create a bunch of issues. An example is with the cyber truck (I havnt looked at your new one) the back sticks out further than what an actual ifrit does so someone is going to be trying to peak around it but is going to be shot right through the model before they are able to see the player if that makes sense since there is no collision on it. You also have to think of all the other things with it like making sure it actually gets attached to the model correctly each time. Also the fact that this is one of the main combat vehicles of any life server I don’t think it’s smart to change the model of the vehicle even in the slightest unless we were a modded server and created a whole different vehicle.

  8. @JackH what kind of situations have you been pulled out of a vehicle where you were not downed or restrained? I’m not saying this doesn’t happen just want to know a specific situation you don’t agree with.

     

    Also so far as spikes go, a suggestion was made last month regarding the same thing and it was denied.

    So our cartels change, for instance. One location could be the arms cartel and the next restart it could be drug cartel. Personally looking at the cartels they seem pretty balanced besides tower cap on the peninsula but that is just a staple to altis and has been there for ages. Without knowing specifically which one your referring to it’s hard for me to put my input in. This is obviously just my own opinion on these caps and would love to hear other people opinions.

  10. Personally I don’t see this fitting into our server. Every non modded server that something like this has been added to hasn’t turned out well and even on the modded side a bunch of drama is created. When you create something like this let’s just say it’s gonna have 10-15 man roster of active players. You now have an another group/faction that is gonna expect content to be added for them. It just really isn’t worth it. So in your point of them controlling herion, anyone can already do this just like gangs sell meth passes ect. People can go and control land and drugs without any type of development work being done. It could be something cool but practically it just isn’t worth it IMO.

    So I completely understand your point but I’ll try to explain our reasoning behind doing this. So with things like adding a fed event or small new content it’s very easy for us to just remove it or drastically change it after a patch has come out. Something like a city change is completely different. Like Fitz said there has been houses moved and replaced and even new ones put down in areas. If we add one of these cities and the community doesn’t like it it’s not a simple revert back to the old one as at that point people will have houses there. Yes you could refund but that creates other problems. This is the first and probably only time that we will get the chance to make a major change to a city since we are wiping. From this we are just wanting feedback from the community on how they feel about doing something like this since a drastic change to a city hasn’t been done on asylum before (removing and replacing houses). Also just from the feedback so far we see that a few tweaks need to be made, which is good for us to know. Hopefully this helps to explain the reasoning behind this post.

  12. Asylum Events

     

    This afternoon the Asylum Staff team will be hosting two events. One being a Cartel Capture Event and the other being a APD Convoy. The Cartel Capture Event will be starting at 6PM EST and the APD Convoy will be hosted after around 7:15PM EST. Details regarding each event are posted below:

     

    Cartel Capture Event

    How it will work:

    Any group with a max of 10 players is able to fight. One cartel will be chosen and fought over for 1 hour. After the 1 hour mark whoever captures the cartel to 100% wins. 

     

    Rules:

    Explosives are allowed
    No ifrits can be stolen and taken to chop shop or shedded.
    Ifrits can be stolen to use in the fight.
    No bounty hunters will be allowed on arms island or in therisa during the event.
    Arms Rebel will be a safe zone and no fighting will be allowed.


    Payouts:

    Winner: $3 mill and 2 gang ifrits
    Anyone that attends will also receive 200k , you will only receive this money if you fight the whole time.
    Note: Staff reserve the right to decide who and who doesn’t get a payout. This event is for people to come fight not for someone to sit on 1k shorting at people to just get a payout.


    APD Convoy Event

    How it will work:

    The APD have made a huge drug bust against Hugo and Ivan and are moving the evidence to a secure location. The HQ where the drugs are currently located at and the secure location they are going to are unknown. Before the officers leave they are required to notify all civilians per the governor’s orders. Intercept the convoy, steal the truck and deliver the drugs to Hugo and Ivan.

     

    Rules:

    No Explosives
    Vehicles cannot be stolen except to be used in the fight over the truck
    No chopping vehicles or shedding
    Cops are lethals only
    No bounty hunters allowed to fight


    Payouts:

    Whoever delivers the truck will get $3 mill split between all of them. 
    If cops do not win each cop is given $150k for attending
    Each group above 5 players that attends will be given 500k to split up between them.
