Now that I had time to work on your questions here is my response to each. What is the purpose of the Govoner if this were to be implemented. Wouldn't this essentially remove the entire role outside of pardoning players? Players are just going to store any gear we give them instead of fight, they already do this when they can get away with it in admin events. Why would players participate in these fights. Most players arn't going to be affected by weed legalization or death penalty. So they would be fighting solely for reduction of taxes. Personally i don't think this is enough incentive leading to lack luster player involvment. Picking factions

I agree that it needs to be worked out more but getting the idea out there and willing to have the community contribute to it if they think it would be something they like to see. I'll work on a response to your questions you have brought up.

Hey great questions and think there will need to be more of these to refine the idea before it is ready to go. 1. The idea is Civs can pick any faction before the battle. When the battle comes around and say it is unbalanced civs can have the option to switch to anther faction or be one of the first to deploy in the over powered one. Ex: 10 people in faction 1, 9 people in faction 2, 4 people in faction 3. The max amount of players that can deploy for a faction is what the lowest faction has. So it would be a 4 v 4 v 4, or people can jump to another faction and fight. 2. Being on the winning faction you will have control of certain aspects of the island. Making weed legal or not, death penalty, and could add other options people could think of. Think of it being a new government in charge. Maybe winners get a small payout as well for their help, 3. I am open to ideas with this one but think player owned houses should not work during the battle in the area it is in.

Dom does not include the APD and seems like that is getting a green light.

Hello everyone, I'm excited to propose a new update idea for Asylum that I believe could bring a fresh and engaging experience to the server. I’m looking for feedback and suggestions to refine this concept, so please feel free to share your thoughts! Civil War Event in Altis Overview: The idea is to introduce a dynamic Civil War event on Altis, where the island is divided among 3 or 4 factions vying for control. This would significantly shift the current gameplay dynamics and provide new opportunities for player engagement. These "wars" would happen at set times during the week. Key Features: Faction Dynamics: Players will have the option to choose and support one of the warring factions. Each faction will be responsible for making decisions and implementing changes on the island, similar to the current role of the governor. With this system, the governor role will be replaced by faction leadership. Civil War Battles: Regular, large-scale battles will occur in different cities across Altis. The outcome of these battles will determine which faction gains control over various regions and eventually, the government. During these wars, the city they are happening in are red zones. Battles will be randomized to ensure that no city is safe and that players must stay alert. Player Involvement: Players who join a faction will receive basic combat kits for the battles. For more advanced gear, they will need to purchase. Unlike the current gang events, which are predominantly focused on cartel-oriented gangs, these faction wars will not benefit gangs directly. This new system will engage all players, regardless of their gang affiliation. Government Changes: The faction in control after a series of battles will influence the island's government, bringing new rules and changes to the gameplay. This will keep the server’s environment dynamic and evolving. Why This is Needed: Inclusivity: Many recent content updates have been heavily focused on cartel-related gang activities, leaving out players who aren’t part of these groups. This Civil War event will involve everyone on the server and give them a chance to make a significant impact on the island’s fate. Combat Focus: Arma 3 excels in offering immersive combat experiences, which sets it apart from other role-playing servers. This new event leverages that strength, providing a unique and exciting way for players to engage in large-scale combat, something not commonly seen in Altis Life servers. Revitalization: The proposed system introduces a fresh, dynamic element to gameplay, moving away from static mechanics and offering new challenges and opportunities for all players. Benefits: Introduces a new layer of strategic gameplay and player choice. Encourages increased participation and engagement by creating a sense of purpose and impact. Revitalizes the server by shifting away from the current, static gameplay mechanics. I’m eager to hear your thoughts on this idea. What do you think could be improved or added? Thank you for your time and input! -- Expanded Faction Dynamics Faction Rewards

Asylum could have done this in the past but think they missed their window years ago.

I disagree with some of what you said. It is essential for the staff to actively engage the community and keep the server alive. Despite the criticism directed at Potato on the forums, he is currently the only staff member making an effort to communicate and represent player concerns here. This highlights a broader issue which is there is a lack of accountability from the current staff regarding the state of Asylum. A glaring example of this issue is the absence of a recap or even a video of the recent "community meeting." This lack of transparency is concerning and reflects poorly on the staff’s commitment to keeping the community informed. Moreover, when the player count was at healthy levels, rather than capitalizing on this momentum, the staff did little to build on it. Engaging with players and gathering their input is far more effective when the server is active, rather than waiting until the player count dwindles to a fraction of its former size. The recent wipe was intended to refresh Asylum, but the current approach suggests a missed opportunity for meaningful engagement. It’s time for the staff to step up their efforts and demonstrate greater accountability in making a thriving community.

The fact that the plan was just to wipe and nothing else is what kills me. They had players back but did nothing to add to the experience. Most of us have played the same thing for years. Just give us some new things to do and a road map...

I dont oppose rebel content, but do disagree on any weapons above 7.62 caliber.

I have thought of a handful of ideas that could be implemented in the future and wanted to make one post. Asylum has had a good turnout for v3, but should not wait until there are only 30 active players to make changes. The changes I am suggesting could be tweaked depending on the community's opinion of them. Below you will see categories for each suggestion. Asylum Development: A roadmap of what is to come would be a great thing to show members that there is some type of future for the server. It also shows them that Asylum is being proactive, not reactive. Polling system on new content that could be added. There is only so much time Devs have to create new things. The polling system would allow the community to vote on what will be added first, rather than putting tons of time into new content people won't use. Gameplay: Weekly events throughout the week, for example: Thursday - Admin games: Winner gets Pay N Spray skins. Wednesday - Seek N Kill (much like hide and seek with a twist): Winner gets 50k. Tuesday - APD gear shipment (cops defend gear that has just been shipped to the island). Asylum Casino - This part of the map is really cool, and I think it should be used in some way. Have it just be a Casino or make it some type of Federal event, like a casino heist. Gang houses - Allow gang houses to be more customized. There could be a store that allows players to purchase objects that would be seen in a house (couches, chairs, desks, etc.). This would only be for gang houses since it would get to be a bit much with player houses. Tuft flags - Have the flags move around; I think this was a thing before. Monthly treasures - At the start of each month, a random treasure is put on the map. A clue will be posted on its location and players will need to work on solving it. If the treasure is unfound after a week, another clue will be given. This will continue until the treasure is found. Fishing competition: At random times, a fishing competition event will start around the map. Players will need to grab wet suits and hand-catch fish in this location. After 30 minutes to an hour, the player with the biggest fish caught wins. UI: This one is not high on the list, but I thought I would throw it out there. The UI for storage/trunks is a bit clunky and does not look great. Also, it does not make Asylum unique from other servers. A relatively simple change that would make Asylum look clearer and set it apart from other servers.

I agree with the spike strips, if it was the flip side a civ doing that we would get ban for exploiting since how can you pull spike strips while driving a car at the same time. Also here is a video of how cops IRL deploy spikes, notice they are not in a car when it happens. - Video

I think I must have had great luck. Edit: After this post took 34 picks for one car lol

The first few weeks have been fun playing, with that being said I do wonder where does Asylum go from here. I understand that we should not expect content every few weeks but think we should have some road map or sense of what is to come. Also think it would be best for the community to have some voice on updates to come. When it comes to bigger updates maybe polling the topic would be the way to go. Love to hear back from a Dev on any progress or their thoughts.

Its not going to happen, already asked for a tweak 3 house and 2 garages and got turned down fast. Only thing I'll say is keep the post up so people can comment their opinions. Since all my suggestions get denied before people can give their takes.

I personally think it should be a BH skill. That might be the only great thing BH has over Rebel.

Overall I think the reset of the server was a success. It has brought people to play Asylum again and seems like most of the community could agree on that. I come with a suggestion to give players their previous cash back but this cash can only be used at the pay and spray. The currency could have the name old money and it allows players who were active before wipe to get cosmetic items that wont affect game play in any way. Lots of players had millions just sitting around and were unware that these skins would transfer to v3.

I want snakes and rabbits to open fed doors again as well...

I'll keep it short for my Kavala brothers. Keep the current 3 house slots but also allow 1 to 2 garage slots as well.

Is it really wipe day tho?

What does n g mean sir? Nice Guy? or a word that rhymes with trigger?

BU breaking the rules, fake news. We are some of the most honest workers on the server. That house was amazing tho.
