  1. considering the state of gang life right now, it might be a good idea to allow people to share BM. we’ve seen it countless times, people want to come back to fight, but also don’t have the money to do that. at the same time, there is plenty of people, especially in the fighting gangs, who have excess blood money because they have no need for it.

what if we added a feature to send that BM to another player, so that the person sending virtually loses nothing, while the person receiving can afford multiple loadouts.

idk, kind of a half assed suggestion, but figured it might be able to help revive gang life.

  2. with exclusively hobby coders, we progress much more slowly. i suggest paying devs per project, so that they have real incentive and focus on it much more, since they’d be getting paid.

look at oly, they pay, and everything added is well thought out and works great. from QoL updates to completely new content, it’s all well thought out and integrates nicely with what’s currently on the server.

no disrespect to the current devs at all, they are doing an amazing job, but they could be doing a lot better, doing things that the majority of the server wants, instead of adding stuff that they’d enjoy doing. for example, processing from a vehicle. i’d imagine that’s not hard to code, but hasn’t been done because most, if not all, devs don’t play civ and make money like that, so it doesn’t interest them. why waste their time on something they won’t use, and also not get rewarded for adding?

edit: just realized that processing from a vehicle is already in the works but still, can’t deny that giving devs more incentive will equate to better content.

I don't understand what unwhitelisting the AFD medic faction has to do with new players being slaughtered in drug fields by experienced ones.

it doesn’t have anything to do with that, it’s simply another route for new players to take that isn’t nearly as risky and won’t make them quit the server, i used that as an example of how hard civ can be for them

I recommend either adding a couple public slots with limited equipment for new players to try it out, or relaxing some restrictions on medics being at cartels/federal events to make them more involved with the cops vs. robbers dynamic.

i agree, this way we can still have all the faction roles, as well as the benefits that come with them. maybe just make the couple public slots we could potentially have, only have EMR rank.

  4. Medic, in my experience, has always been something you could just hop on and make some extra money. these days, all these new players, they get fucked over running drugs or whatever. we should make medic not whitelisted, it’s a faction that really doesn’t need to exist whitelist wise. let the new players make some easy money, with no risk, and keep them interested in the server. like i’ve said on here before, some of these new players might be able to contribute greatly to the server but they are getting run off by people who don’t care about growing server pop.

not only does it get them money, it gets them familiar with the server overall. i understand that it would be a pretty hectic situation unwhitelisting medic, since there’s so many people involved in those roles. but you gotta look out for the future, we won’t get far if we can’t expand our development team. they’re doing great work rn, don’t get me wrong, but extra hands never hurt. and we’re currently pushing those potential extra hands away.

  5. not a bad idea, but i think a third is too low and won’t attract many people, i’d suggest 75-80%. with the state of the game in general, most people don’t want to grind and even though its passive money, a third is literally pocket change.

also, for something to call it, i think Syndicates would work fine, it doesn’t overlap with anything currently on the server and sounds nice, “drug syndicate, arms syndicate” etc

  6. i think one of the main concerns is the lack of care for new players. this isn't an admin exclusive thing, many gangs don't give them a chance either. its why hyper has so many numbers, we try to guide them. but on the admin side of this topic, i see new people in chat asking for help a LOT, but no staff replies. most of the time its just questions about something on the server, and gets answered by a player, but sometimes they legitimately need admin support but don't get it.

the server won't grow if this keeps up, and who knows, one of these new players that get pushed away could be an exceptional dev, able to contribute greatly to the server.

maybe betting with a duel. 1v1 to the death. also other players should get to bet on the outcome. schedule an hour in advance letting the word spread

people already do this, but it would be nice to have it as an actual feature and not just an agreement between players

@Bubs i need you to log into CQC and 1v1 Owen again so i can bet all my money on the fight

There's been QoL fixes like processing from vehicles that's been in the pipeline for years that hasn't been touched due to lack of dev interest (cant really blame them, not like they get paid)

wait really? i know admins don’t get paid, but i figured devs would at least get paid something per project. can’t have a good server if the developers adding content to it have no incentive to make the content actually good
