Most players are extremely risk adverse. Highly unlikely they will give up safe house weed for high risk high camped field money. I could put house weed to the price of redgull and id bet ppl will still grind it.

Its basically a guarantee it will work for an interim amount of time. By wiping you will see an increase of players. Just depends on how long that initial rush lasts for. Say it goes well for 1-2 months then the server pop dies because the initial excitement is over and all the good housing is gobbled up. sure you can restore but except now you have lost a considerable base of players who have moved on to other games. You may get some people back with a restore but you will alienate the people who grinded/got ahead in those 1-2months. Now you are facing wiping 1-2 months of work to restore the previous years. And merging the two DB's is not really practical. Also no guarantee those players ever come back.

Wiping is a Gamble, Once the cards are dealt you can't take your bet back. Its all or nothing

We still have people come around here thinking Paratas owns the place and demanding money. The vast majority of people never read patch notes & never visit the forums. They will log in to see their shit is gone one day and never look back.

If you wipe Asylum. How are we different from any of the other life server starting out at square 0? how many people are going to go to Olympus because they have investment there and dont want to start again on Asylum.

The only way i would support any form of wipe is if we did a 2nd server that wasn't hooked up the main DB (Essentially a fresh server) but i can bet it would fail. (As much as i would love a Malden/Livonia life server with no heli's completely separated from main)

Agreed. Scotch was the best and most balanced passive income. Having to process it to make it 25 year and actually worth selling was the best option and it should be the only semi-passive method to remain on the server. Remove bud & LSD Sheets. Instead make those have to be processed at the designated locations not at the drug dealer....

The only problem with something like this is that there is really no turning back, granted they could always roll it back to the day before the wipe.
A lot of things that were asked for and eventually granted in Asylums history ended up back firing.
Domination rewards have only aided in breaking the economy.
Group cap was appreciated for some time but ultimately removed in the long run.
6.0 (xd) was hated more and more as time went on with the money cap being in place until it was removed.
There are many more things just like this. I think the nostalgia of it would boost player count for some time, but it is seriously worth considering the adverse ramifications of this. Me personally, I don't play Asylum much any more but that's really only because I don't have a really active gang to spam feds with and shit like that. I also know that one of the big reasons I played for as long as I did was because Asylum was the type of game/server that didn't wipe. There are 2 scenarios where I see this working.
1. A backup of the current server database is kept in the event the wipe just shits on the player count.
2. A second server is put up with a completely separate database to see if everyone flocks there. Only problem with this is the player count might end up being split down the middle, which comes with other long term issues.

I think more buyable buildings are needed big time so +1

Maybe a slow rollout of making one or two new house variants available and seeing the impact on performance?  There could be a two week or month testing period where it is understood that buying these houses may be reverted and you will be doing so at your own risk?

People will not want to go back having nothing.  Especially with housing.
Asylum is an already solved game and resetting everyone will only give that nostalgia effect for two weeks before people have upwards of ten mil again.  Adding more end game content that isn't federal events or cartels is a better idea than gambling with your playerbase

I could get behind wiping excess money every few months but I think restarting everyone back to zero and no houses will just kill the server.  Also removing buds is something that needs to happen

The problem with doing a full wipe of the server is that it largely helps veteran players and big gangs.  They know exactly what they will do to make money and the process will be very quick and linear.  Many players are going to speed run back to where they were and people who aren't in the know will get left behind and turn into the entertainment of the gangs that have already grinded their money back.
And then there is the question of how many times will the server get wiped after?  Once?  Or will it turn into a reoccurring thing?  A lot of people will not like that either.

A wipe would be cool in theory, but a guy like me who blew weeks of time (weeks as in all of the hours added together) grinding to make a few mil versus the big gangs that have tens or hundreds of millions just by virtue of being a big team...The strong gangs would only have to actually sweat for a couple of months before they were back to blowing frits like candy. The only people a wipe would really punish are the solos and small groups. Voted no.

Rich people who are bored simply lack creativity. This is an RP server, you don't have to meta game all day running feds and shooting everyone you see. Last year I remember RonnyB and Michael Sloan set up a large racing event at the airport where winners got like a mil. Big gangs could totally afford to bankroll their own events like that. Get a hemmit full of meth and run it from Sofia to Kav like the cops do to spice things up. Fill an offroad with some random drugs and go around selling like some corner dealer. There must be a thousand things you could be doing to interact with other players besides shooting them or leaving them in a house. 

P.S. I am not giving up the Kavala mansion.
