Effective March 1st, 2019, the APD will be using a unified promotion process throughout all precincts moving forward.
Both precincts will follow the same promotion process. All application forms and voting documents will be owned by the Captains. One Lieutenant from each precinct will be in charge of opening and closing applications.
Applications will open on the 5th, and close on the 25th of every month. Precincts will have 7 days to finalize their votes, with voting being closed after 7 days. Captains will then release promotions between then and the 5th of every month (always before applications open again).
There will be no clear-cut amount of votes for someone to be promoted automatically. An applicant will need to pass a certain percentage of votes to be eligible for promotion. If an applicant reaches the certain percentage threshold by the time votes close, the applicant will be reviewed by the Captains. The higher the vote percentage an applicant receives, the more likely they are to receive the respective promotion. Some details are still being hashed out, but the whole process will be finalized by February 22nd, with the process being implemented by March 1st.
Do not open applications for Corporal or Sergeant for the month of April, as the switch over will happen on March 1st for the month of April's promotions.

Q: How will Corporal activities be handled?
A: The precincts will still handle activities for Corporals.

Q: Can we still hold precinct meetings?
A: Yes. Precincts have 7 days after applications close to hold their precinct meetings if they wish. 7 days allows there to always be a weekend.

Q: What percentage of votes is required for an applicant to be eligible for a promotion?
A: There's currently an algorithm which is set to 33%. The weight of people's votes are dependent on how many staff members on the precinct are eligible to vote.
