Good way to start out a suggestion post.

I've heard a lot of complaints about not enough housing. The problem might just be solved by decreasing the home insurance protection. Decrease the price, decrease the time it gives. Make the fuckers log in to buy home insurance more often. It was a problem way back in the day that people would only log in to keep their houses active.
I don't think adding more houses would be the solution. If everyone on the server was able to just go buy a house there would be no market for them.

Yeah I don’t see much development change happening here. Perhaps a rule change of combat evasion into a safe zone should be illegal but it’s not like u can leave a table of blackjack until the hand is done so u can’t comply to any demands. Also getting bhunted while gambling would be annoying asf

I don't know man, at the end of the day yall have to exploit to get people over there so I think its kind of funny you're talking about us as APD Lts breaking rules and not being bound to rules. Why don't we start with not exploiting first and the Devs / Cpts could possibly talk about changing a few things?

They're new, they're cool. In a week or two you'll never see them again.

I guess I will throw in that both drones can be disabled with a p07
where can we buy the po7 that shoots 1km up 1km out? need one of those...
  6. Arcangel liked a post in a topic by 王 rando 王 in Drones
Limit the amount of drones that can be pulled at a time. Currently there's a seemingly endless amount of drones fucking everywhere. Sometimes multiple drones hovering over a single city or area. I think 2 drones on the entire map at one time should be the limit. Add a time limit on a drone. It's kind of ridiculous when they leave not just one drone but two sitting a kilometer above an illegal area and they can sit there forever. Add a timer for the life of a drone, IE: after 10 minutes of use the drone has to charge for 25 minutes Increase the price of drones. Idk what they cost now but it's not enough if they're being pulled all the fucking time like this. just 2 drones chillin above african warlord, i think theyre best friends

There kinda already is, APD Has the three Cpts, AFD has Chief / Ass Chief, and there are a few rebel admins already.

I would like to announce a few things. First things first, I would like to apologize for being too disconnected from the community. I could make a list of reasons as to why this was the case, but those would just be excuses. The only person to blame for the current situation is me. I will be around weekly at a minimum going forward to assist the admin team.

To help remove some of the weight from the Senior Admins(SAs) plate, Community Managers(CMs) will be added to the team. Their only duty will be to ensure the pulse and health of the community is at the forefront. The SAs will continue to run the admin team. They are separate roles but of equal rank. This will help each role focus on what matters most, the health of the community. That being said, welcome our Community Managers:
    @Ronald
    @DarkKnight
Thank you for your patience, time, and contributions.

  17. Arcangel liked a post in a topic by Samperino in Role Play on the APD
    What is role play?
Role-playing is the changing of one's behaviour to assume a role, either unconsciously to fill a social role, or consciously to act out an adopted role.
    So what's your point?
Over time, the role play quality of on-duty officers has gone down.
    The APD
The APD is the backbone of role play on Asylum's Altis Life. All officers on duty (and preferably off duty) are expected to uphold a higher level of quality in how they act while playing on Asylum. The blufor faction (Cop, APD) is whitelisted, which means it is a privilege and not a right to be able to play on it.
Somewhere down the line, role play made its way to the back seat and became more about making money and shooting guns. While that's all good and fun, role play while on duty needs to be at the forefront at all times.
The APD is not a gang. Good aim and combat awareness is definitely a plus, but is never required and is never put above your ability to talk to people.
    The issues
There are lots of issues that have crept up over time, including but not limited to:
Full, or near full tickets for well thought out role play (explaining charges, etc) Poor treatment of civilians who put effort into their character Shooting before talking (APD hands up... bang bang bang) Bleeping sirens to initiate and shoot as soon as possible While technically these aren't necessarily against any APD policy (barring severe circumstances), they are definitely frowned upon.
    The solution(s)
    There's no easy solution.
To start off, and effective immediately, any lack of role play or failure to role play will be dealt with harshly by our APD staff. This will require everyone's help to report this behaviour. We need video evidence. We cannot act based off of word of mouth.
If you are unable to talk to people respectfully with no bias, the APD is not for you. This goes for all ranks.
    Civilian role play
Asylum is a light role play server. Civilians are not required to role play, but when civilians do role play, or put effort into it, they should be rewarded. If role play is rewarded, they will be more likely to put more effort into it again in the future.
If the cops do not role play, there is a chain reaction that happens.
Civilian gets into a situation with an APD officer Civilian attempts to role play APD officer is a generic brick wall (issues full, or close to full ticket, or is almost like a robot) Civilian sees that the effort he/she put in didn't pay off Civilian sees no point in role playing in the future Next APD officer interaction, the civilian isn't role playing because role playing doesn't pay off Even if a civilian is not role playing, there is no excuse in not trying to get something out of the civilian.

Everyone is always asking "how much money do I have?" Well, it's $33,903,144 as of May 1st, 2018. It's mostly meth, coke, crank although I got my first $10 million mostly distilling Scotch. I make all of my own guns/ammo, helicopters and vehicles. I pick berries rather than buy water or bacon. I pick up Red Gulls, blood and painkillers from bodies even when I'm being shot at because, hell, they're going to just disappear if I don't. I steal and chop every vehicle I find unlocked; even if it's a potato-car and I always take the tool-kits from the inventory before chopping. I cap Drug before selling drugs...always. I've never bought a gun at Rebel...ever...although the other day, I bought 5 or 6 magazines and it nearly killed me to do so. I make a ton from rebel-activities and yes, I hear most of your cries for mercy but I think back to when I was excavating on the beach near Sofia and I was never cut any slack or mercy, from those rebels robbing and killing me time and again...so the island-tone had been set long before I started playing. It's very basic...Grow-up, put your big-boy pants on and if you can't take the risk vs. reward balance on the island, don't come here; go play Roblox.
APD officers and higher-ups deserve a huge shot-out because anyone who's been on the island more than a few months will recall that rule-bending and outright corruption was routine...but no longer is that the case. Today's APD guys are a much higher-tier group because they follow the APD Dashboard rules to letter and when there's any ambiguity or grey-area discovered, they re-write the rule for more clarification to both civilians and APD officers.
I donate a huge amount of money to Republican-like players who aren't afraid to work for the money (mutual benefit) and for those more socialistic, Democratic-like players who are just asking for a "hand-out" or free money, I always tell them "I won't give you any money but I'll show you how to make it"...sadly, most decline the offer though.
So, thanks for listening and I urge all of you (and I'm really talking directly to the Drunk Squad gang members), please stop claiming RDM for any and all kills. There is a hidden gem in the Rules and Guidelines which clarifies and explains in more detail about what is and what is NOT RDM. I don't think many have had a chance to really read and digest it. Line number 9 under the RDM section reads, "The rules around RDM have changed slightly: Please refer to the changes Here! "
Thanks for listening and I'll see you on the Island!!!

    Everyone-
In addition to the normal goals that we have every month, this month will be slightly different.  I have hired @Poseidon to look through the Asylum code and work on (mainly) performance.  Many of you may know him as the former owner/developer of Olympus.
I've agreed to pay him for two weeks initially, but as the Community Goal amount increases for the month - so will the chance that will be able to keep him on longer as he makes improvements.  Here is your chance to directly impact server performance here at Asylum by donating money to that effort.  Hopefully we'll not only be done with the BE kicks, but also have much better server performance going forward very soon.
Also, if we hit tier 3 (or higher) during the month of July I will go ahead and unlock that now instead of waiting until August.  So there are two great reasons to donate to the Community Goals for this month.
    Thanks,
    Bamf

So your idea is to stop letting people become cops?
I fail to see the logic in how that will stop one of our hundreds of whitelisted officers from checking Ephedra fields long enough for you to do your solo run.

Here's an idea - keep an eye on how many cops there are online.  If there are too many cops, you may want to stick to legal objectives.

If you have to do something illegal, make your runs smaller with hatchbacks, offroads or Qlin's. Arm yourself with enough firepower to potentially dispatch the first couple cops to check the field.  If one shows up, kill him and leave immediately.

Because a cop checks a red zone doesnt make him a garbage cop.  It makes you a garbage civilian for putting yourself in danger of getting caught so many times.
