Protecting Hemmt's/assets

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Many of you probably do not know me yet as I am a recent addition to the server by about a month. During my time of playing I usually like to mine, process, make legal weapons, and sell processed diamonds for money with my RL brother Odin. Now I am writing this because I have noticed a bit of a...well ok a major disadvantage when it comes to this. In the past week and a half we have lost about 3 HEMT's, 1 of of those due to an RDM (which for some reason is still being processed...). After each of those we have tried to come up with legal ways to defend these vehicles during the processing procedure, and honestly...we are at a major major disadvantage.

So here's an example; My brother and I go to the medium yield quarry and fill the HEMT with Iron and uncut diamonds. We then drive it to mineral processing and then later to salt mining and then to the gun processing. A process which every rebel seems to be familiar with. While we are at the processing, and this has happened many times, we have someone run up to us, with MK18's, Assault Rifles, or whatever other type of illegal weapon, run up to us without me being able to do ANYTHING  and tell us to put our hands up. We comply, they use one lockpick, open the vehicle, then drive it away and chop it. If we take more than 2 secs to do that, they just kill us and that is it. Very low risk for the bad guys, they can walk right up and there you have it. 60, 000 dollars and an hours work to waste.

My question is, I go and sit on a rooftop, lay in the grass with a rifle, and I see two guys pull up in a car with illegal weapons and come within 100 meters of our hemmt hauling 100k worth of goods, and I KNOW they are up to know good. Can I not just engage them? ESPECIALLY when they are approaching a vehicle guns up at the ready in guerrilla gear? Can't we have some kind of standing orders or standing rule that allows merchants to protect their assets? I mean lets think about this... I see another HEMT, box truck, show up to processing I know they just want to make money as well so I dont worry about it. I see two guys show up in a hatchback armed to the teeth....I KNOW they aren't processing. So what I would like, just to be clear, is that if you approach a vehicle with guns up, you are to be recognized as a threat and then the merchants get to have a chance in hell to defend themselves.

In my honest opinion, in order to make it fun for everyone, there always has to be a solid balance between Risk and Benefit. If you have these guys who just drive up and point a gun at you and you are stuck processing it is pretty much zero risk for them to take that HEMT, and an enormous benefit.

Just trying to help make things a bit more fair,

Yea this happens all the time...the best way to counteract this attack is to initiate rp yourself and try to take out the other guys. If that isnt an option, try to run away until the cops can respond. Text the cops because they will be more than happy to respond if one of them has an illegal firearm. Try doing things small first. Get a boxer truck because it can go faster and people usually wont chop it, only sell whats inside.

Hope this helped and happy mining

Yeah I am pretty good with waiting to initiate RP, its just anxiety inducing watching every vehicle to come up and then figure out if they are friend or foe. Had a great instance today with two of the cops getting our HEMT back that was stolen, I think the guys name was Blackadder or something on server one. It was nice because the guys who stole it RDMed my brother, got shot by me, his friend stole the HEMT, and then the guy who was shot drove all the way back to the HEMT to be arrested. Kudos to the cops on that one, made our day! Its just brutal...the only legal way to defend is a 9mm pdw. Bit of an advantage when they all have MK18 7.62mm but im sure you cops know all about that!

Whats the point of this thread?

I'm genuinely confused, YOU have the advantage, ESPECIALLY, if you're defending your HEMTT's not processing. Let me put this into perspective as the rebel that robs you:

Sees HEMTT, rolls up on it, has to initiate themselves which in turn gives you the advantage considering YOU can shoot without having to wait for the person you're robbing to respond. As soon as the robber says hands up, you shoot, simple as that, this BS about making it fair is literally the most retarded thing i've read in a while. Just stop crying, and if you don't want to get robbed, use a smaller vehicle, it genuinely hurts my brain as I read this and I tried my best to not laugh half-way through, then I re-read it and realized that you are new. If I was Gnashes I'd just slander you into abyss, but i'm gonna be a nice guy here and tell you a simple fact:

Don't want to get robbed? Dont use HEMTTs if I see a fucking offroad at diamond processing I MIGHT kill them, but I 100% of the time will not take that, and I probly wont even kill you if you seem like a nice person. It baffles me I had to take the time to write this..

You're at a disadvantage because you have to intiate while they're able to get in good positions before they intiate.

Your best bet is honestly to immediately intiate anyone pulling up in a hatchback with rebel gear on. "Don't get out of the car or you die! Drive off immediately!"

Also have a friend sitting 100-200m out with a 7.62.

you gotta wait for them to initiate RP.

Back in the day there was a pretty large group of rebels who protected diamond miners, forget their name but they would do escorts of hemtts carrying diamonds with ifrits and 50 cals lol

I used to,But the salt plus the amount of time the rebels go out of their way to start figts makes protection services not worth it,even if your actually charging.

pretty much this, having a HEMTT put's a pretty big target on your back. Don't take out a HEMMT if you aren't capable of defending yourself, because people will try to rob you.

If you want a simple solution, don't run guns.

I've been doing mining runs with the HEMMTBOX for awhile now, and out of the 20 runs I've done I've been killed and robbed once. I can just buy the guns with the easy money I make mining. I tried running guns recently and there has always been someone trying to rob me, and I've lost more than I made.

Now if you want to keep trying, I suggest putting a tracking device on your HEMMTBOX first. If someone suspicious approaches get on your HEMMTBOX and face it the opposite direction ready to floor it to the nearest HQ, if they catch and kill you just call the cops and tell them the coordinates of the HEMMTBOX, I did this once and they got it back for me.

If you don't want to run just initiate first, take away their gun and tell them to fuck off, if they are wearing rebel gear just engage and kill them after initiating, they aren't worth the risk, you can turn yourself in for a 1K ticket later.

Well I might respond to a couple people on here in the spirit of discussion. You seem to be having a conversation with yourself here. I will accept the fact that you have just told me you are confused and forget that I have read this "wannabe trolling" post. It too baffles me that you took time to write this! But I do appreciate your attempt at feedback.

Well nice attempt to save yourself. With a cropped...odd screenshot that really means nothing... However reading your own admins rules :  "First, it is no longer acceptable to send someone a text message telling them they are going to die and then killing them immediately (or shortly thereafter).  Things like “you will die” followed by someone being killed will be a bannable offence going forward." quoted from bamf from the updated rules page.

So what is your point? If you would like to make this issue with you RDMing public as I can see from your post...I CAN do that. However, I figured id let the admins sort it out... But thanks for coming out!

In conclusion..Thanks for the good responses and great advice from those who took the time. And for those of you who came out from under your bridge to try and validate your insecurities...Good try!

Thanks for the good laugh guys. I'm so sad/mad right now I wont be able to sleep tonight. Sad thing is I'm actually kind of disappointed. I heard to be careful posting on here because there are some nasty trolls that will eat you alive. I'm actually kind of disappointed... All I see is poorly structured sentences and pitiful name calling.

My names not Odin by the way. But you know what Lethal, I really hope you don't get banned. This game seems very very important to you, I don't think it would be good for your health. You know what? Out of sympathy for your situation I will remove my report from the forum. Its all good man, you can thank me later.

Cheers guys! See you in game.

For the record, Odin had DCed and never got your message and I couldn't exit the vehicle at all or I would have taken your head off the moment you got out of the chopper. Had you actually established a line of communication however I would have told you that I can not exit the vehicle. I had no idea of the demand you made...OVER TEXT. Then you capped two people sitting inside a vehicle. *clap* MAN the skill!

I'd suggest you stay away from debating the rules and regulations with members who have been here for years first of all :P

But as others have said; the biggest thing is to stay away from hemmts. Just use a box truck to run guns or lower. If I see a hemmt gathering iron and it's owner is wielding a pdw...100% of the time I am going to go make an easy payroll off of you. But if I see someone with a box truck or less, chances are I'm going to pass on by.

Considering the low drive times for gun running,  A hemmt really doesn't even make you much more money, as the box truck is quite a lot faster.

I think he is a selective reader on those rules, because if you kept reading them you would see that it says if the person is in a car you have to tell them to pull over and put their hands up, and that it's allowed to do so. Which is exactly what lethal did.

Youre probably one one of those guys that claims rdm in side chat every time you die.

I will debate the rules, especially when they aren't 100% clear situation dependent. I never got the message myself so if we are going off of technicalities I never did receive it. But anyway, this whole topic which we are speaking of right now is irrelevant to my original point to my original post. Lethal wanted to make it about him and here we are, I figured id humor him for a bit and well nothing productive game from it anyway. I didn't realize we publicly discuss RDMs, the thing that Lethal brought up is a tricky situation because if you look at it from my end, that message was never seen, then I was killed.... Can you honestly blame me? Or should I just take the guys word that he did what he said he did when I don't even know him? Especially considering his ability to communicate respectfully. But I'm done discussing this, there's not point to it any more.

@Brown

Get in a good spot and guard. Just shoot the tires of the approaching vehicle (be very careful cuz if you kill them its RDM) this not only slows them down but they will either run away or they will jump out guns ready and once they start shooting or engage you you can kill them. if they just jump out and run up to your friend and kill him and he is in your group there you go they are now engaged kill them both from afar. then go lockpick their car and chop it.

p.s. for choppers that are about to land on you just get a 7.62 from rebel and when they are hovering over shoot the chopper a warning shot if they don't leave just unload your clips into the dam thing relentlessly and they should leave.

BE AGGRESSIVE you want others to know or at least think your too much a risk to try and rob.

Back when I was just a regular player, I became the wealthiest person in the community. I never ran anything in a HEMTT, particularly not solo or in a small group.

Your best bet is to strategically position houses to allow you to make quick runs of whatever it is you want to do. For me, it was off-roads of meth from DP14. I would gather the ingredients, put them in my house, and then process an off-road at a time.

I didn't even bother carrying a gun. You're going to get killed at times. It's a cost of doing business. The big thing though, is you don't want to have a vehicle that is enticing out and just your name showing inside of that vehicle. It's a sure way to get robbed.

Think more about minimizing your losses instead of maximizing your profits and I bet you will make money faster.

Same as me. Way before that when I was 2nd richest on the server(just smodee infront of me), I made money 2 different ways.

I gathered meth ingridients in a mohawk at the far out locations and stored it in my house. Then I ran meth from my house in a sport hatch.

Other thing I did was cocaine runs in a sport hatch.

Only thing I had was my car and a backpack. If cops showed up, I had a chance to get away since my car is fast, and the times I got caught, all I lost was my car. Making money in huge vehicles are dumb, specially in the regular hotspots. You will be robbed. Imo never go above flat bed truck. You might make less money per minute than if you ran the big truck, but this way you are making safe money, and if you get robbed etc, you dont really lose anything of value

People don't understand this idea of maximizing gains by minimizing their losses.
They also don't seem to understand strategic advantages of real estate.

General consensus seem to be: "Fuck that Hatchback trunk space, I'll bring a HEMTT, full rebel gear and over 9000 grenades for my Meth run. If cops show up I'll rekt them. I alone am best!"
10 minutes later you see the guy getting arrested by a cadet on a quad bike.

Time to write an AHK that does this for us. Will get back to you all with price options.

Also to brown and Odin, stop trying to make money the legal way and never use a vehicle larger than a boxer or you will get robbed every time. Making tons of money is shit easy you just have to think outside the box and you will have essentially unlimited funds.
