  1. Money sinks are typically cosmetic and not required to progress. Think in-game purchasable skins. It would do nothing to these players. These players typically don't use the 4k in their bank and 1 car in their garage to gamble away anyways. If they do, though, then it's a good thing they're gambling their in-game life away and not their IRL (hopefully).
  2. I would rather see more money sinks than anything. Right now there are people sitting on millions and millions of dollars, and they don't really spend it on anything, they just hoard it. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I feel like the "then people would feel the need to grind again" problem can potentially be solved with money sinks (e.g.: gambling, loot crates purchasable with in-game money, etc.).
  3. You have to be a cop to be able to do so.
  4. Seizing and impounding can occur before or after a ticket has been issued. http://gaming-asylumwiki.com/wiki/Processing#Seizing
  5. This isn't wasteland though. You're not supposed to be able to respawn instantly after getting caught by the cops. This is Altis Life where there are consequences for your (criminal) actions. Also you're somewhat hitting the nail on the head when you say that there's almost nothing to do on the server. I feel like some of this has to do with burnout, though. If you look at all the features Asylum has, there's actually a lot to do. When you have a lot of money, a lot of those activities are useless to you and Asylum becomes a wasteland server. I think the moral of the story here is that we should wait until V2 before we open up more dialogue. We're arguing over how this current version is, and that's not healthy. It's going to suck for a small while, but hang in there.
  6. The "majority of the server" isn't on the forums. The majority of the server plays the game and what happens, happens. The ones who have issues are naturally going to be the loudest, creating the illusion of a majority. Those who are happy or content rarely state that they are so. They have nothing they to complain about. That being said, points can be made for both sides and there needs to be a balance. I said this in Discord, but aside from the $10,000 Prison Conspiring charge that you get for initiating a prison break, there is no other consequence. There's no gold bars, no money. You're breaking people out of prison, so there needs to be an increased risk (consequence) for doing so. Now, onto my personal opinion here: If you want to fight cops, go find them and fight them. The prison break these days are used to funnel cops into one area as a shooting gallery. Rarely do I even see anyone in the actual prison waiting to be broken out.
  7. Agreed. Thinking something along the lines of allowing the sending of suspects straight to jail if they meet the following criteria: • Seen assisting in a recent active prison break • Must be brought back to HQ to send to jail • Suspect must be searched, charged, have their illegal items be seized, have their charges read to them, and be told why they are being sent straight to jail, before actually being sent to jail Just an idea, and certainly not something I'd like to mess with personally until V2.
  8. "It happened to me so it shouldn't be allowed." It's part of the risk. If there's nobody in jail, and you sit there sniping at cops for an hour, you're at risk of just getting sent to jail. If there's someone in jail, break them out and get them out of there. The longer you linger, the higher the risk.
  9. So, out of curiosity. Did you understand the risk before or after your group initiated the prison break?
  10. First of all maybe you can explain the whole situation and put yourself in the shoes of the officer at the time (welcome to 90% of IAs). Second of all, how on earth could you possibly know whether or not I personally did something about it? So you know that situations can get out of hand. You also know that if you feel you were wronged that you are to file an Internal Affairs report. You know that walking up to an officer in game and bitching about something isn’t going to achieve your desired outcome. Yes something was “done about it.”
  11. I'm not giving you the answer you want to hear, so I'm dodging everything and not taking responsibility.
  12. Well it seems like you're trying to hold this movement to "improve the APD" which to me seems like you just want a bigger challenge in combat situations. That's not going to happen. This isn't wasteland, this is Altis Life. The main objective of the APD is role play, not combat. Combat situations do require some combat awareness and strategy/leadership, but to an extent. If you're looking for a bigger challenge, it's not going to come from the APD, it will come from other gangs.
  13. The APD is not an organized gang. Think of the APD as a very large pot of soup. There's a crap ton of ingredients and flavours, but there are some ingredients that just don't work in the soup. Sometimes you'll take a bite and it won't be very pleasant. Organized gangs, think of those like a really nice filet mignon. There's one ingredient, and it knows what it is. And it's a really good ingredient. The filet mignon will always be nicer than the large soup with a ton of ingredients in it. The arguments here are trying to assume that the APD is an organized gang, when it is not, and it never will be. What people are suggesting is for it to be run like one, and that can become dangerous.
  14. Just get rid of the higher ups then. More complaints come in about higher ups than the Constables/Corporals. Just take a look at @Pizza Man, he complains about the medic prestige perks when he can't shoot someone point blank. Can you tell me what you mean by them being too powerful outside of the game? Unfortunately we'll just be going around in circles with this one.
  15. The upper end of the APD is too powerful, and the lower end of the APD is not powerful enough. There is a big balance discrepancy. If there are a crew of Constables/Corporals on, a gang can usually pretty easily take them on. Throw a Lieutenant or two, maybe a Captain into the mix and that's when things start to get spicy and the complaints start rolling in.
  16. Force retirement is bad. It pushes "promote quantity over quality" even further. What if there aren't any great candidates for the roles? Then we're promoting just to fill the numbers of the force retired.
  17. The suggestions & feedback section isn't really my domain but the APD is top heavy right now. Too much emphasis on the upper end, not enough on the lower end.
  18. Yeah, my point is that there is always going to be politics no matter what system you have in place. You can't accurately measure "leadership" and "dedication", etc. It's all fairly subjective.
