    EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY
    Captains (Active or Retired) additional guidebook abilities:
    Pass out weapons/equipment (excluding bipods and msxws) to any online player regardless of rank or faction
    If the individual is an APD Officer, he/she must drop and seize the item(s) when the Captain leaves the server
    Allow a civilian to keep contraband
    Perform Cartel/Rebel Raids
    All officers participating must execute the raid at the same time, including the Captain
    Only 1 life per raid (unless revived) per officer
    Raids may only be conducted every 30 minutes per individual location by the Captain
    Captains may test new policies prior to implementation
    The policy must have been presented to the Senior Admins for review and approval prior to testing in-game.
    Retired Captains are no longer allowed to post on applications
     
    To improve understanding and transparency within the community, these abilities are now written down and will be added to the guidebook. That being said, Captains MUST behave reasonably as they are the head of the APD. If you feel you have been wronged, in any form in or out of game, by an APD Captain, please submit a Captain Report via Internal Affairs. The Captain reports, active or retired, will now be handled directly by the Senior Admins.

    It comes with profound sadness that today Asylum looses a legend. Leady has decided to retire from his 7 years of distinguished service as a staff member. He is the longest running staff member to date, and his contribution, dedication and passion for this community will never be forgotten. 

    I could never thank @Leady enough for teaching me the countless lessons over the years. He has been a consistent partner in crime and has always answered my calls for help. 
    Take care in your retirement, and we will all forever be in debt to you.

    We will be locking the server in preparation for the new additional housing. Server is unlocked 300+ shop houses will be added to the server and after a short lock and test (10-15mins if all goes well) the server will be unlocked and opened for players to purchase the new houses. This will be on a first come first serve basis, some of the more desired houses have been earmarked and will be given away on our discord server (Join here https://discord.gg/gamingasylum) 
    This patch is very light, it is mostly fixes/backend work for the houses. It will be a laggy piece of ___ as everyone downloads mission files and races to spam buy houses. However I wanted the houses to go to our active player base which is why we are surprise patching during a busy time creating extra lag. Undoubtedly it will be frustrating as some of you may crash/be unable to get the house of your dreams, we ask for patience and understanding during this dash for housing. Please enjoy the additional patch notes while you wait!

    Note: Some of these changes/fixes were added with this patch but went undocumented.

    Added:
    Shop houses, Buy the top floor of a shop, Bottom door remains locked open Exactly the same as a 2 crater stat/price wise Security Cameras 1-3 Security Camera's have been added to some federal events (Prison/Reserve/Jewelry/Bank). A Security Camera has also been added and aimed at the square of all spawn city's (Excluding Therisa) . Officers SGT+ will be able to use UAV Terminals to access cameras.  Camera's have low power and the officer must be within range to connect.  Cameras can be seen in-game, civilians can block/obscure camera's with smoke/spray-paints/vehicles/kidnapped officers over the height of 6ft. Billboard Advertisements Billboards have been placed around the map with custom images to advertise Domination/Gang Fort/Faction Recruitment. The advertisements select from the current pool of 4 randomly after each restart meaning you should see something new and fresh every restart. Changed/Tweaked:
    New Wong's Cartel layout @Piter De Vries Can assign Custom control 16 to open Wanted Menu Wanted Menu button has been moved to 4 by default Made random spawned events more common Revive fee's have been reduced to $2500.     It's no secret some people with good houses log on a couple times a month for a minute or two here and there to ensure they do not lose their houses. Some of these people have been doing this well over a year. My solution is to make a housing upkeep system based off how many hours you play on the server within the timeframe of a month.
     
    How it would work:
    The more houses you own, the more hours you need to play on the server within a month. I believe 2 hours per house is a fair number. If you own 5 houses I believe you should be required to play at least 10 hours within that month to not lose your houses.
     
    Functionality:
    App on Phone called "Upkeep" After clicking the app you will be prompted with how many hours you have played thus far while also displaying how many hours you must play within the 30 day timeframe (Also displaying how many more days until the timeframe ends)  
    Houses to hours:
    1 house    = 2 hours 2 houses = 4 hours 3 houses = 6 hours 4 houses = 8 hours 5 houses = 10 hours  
    Result:
    Either some more active players or some sick new real estate on the market, either one is a plus.
     
    Example of just one unnamed player who abuses the current system:

     
    TL;DR
    If you don't play the server you shouldn't be allowed to prohibit the actual playerbase from having those houses.

    Hey all,

    So currently the development team is looking for some additional help. We are in need of people for various specialized positions.
    Positions Available:
    Graphics Designer - 1 or 2 Position(s) available at this time SQF Developer - 1 or 2 Position(s) available at this time Map Designer - 1 Position open at this time Economist - 1 or 2 Position(s) available at this time Description of Positions
    Graphics Designer: The role of the graphic designer is to support the other positions (web/content/map) by creating graphics not limited to but mainly textures/icons/images. These graphics could be displayed on the website, in-game on billboards, or used on new textures for vehicles. The content created is to be of quality and should show that thought and effort was put in to the work. Map Designer: The role of the map designer is to support the on-going in-game development of the content developers and creating new map areas or modifying requested portions of the map from either the developers or from upper server management. You could be creating totally new areas on the map for a new server event, new runs, or new objectives. You could also just be making slight adjustments to object orientations and helping perfect object placement on the map and such. SQF Developer: Developers are going to be primarily working on new in-game content, bug fixes, exploit resolutions, etc. This role is relatively self explanatory I feel... Web Developer: The role of the web developer will be to create or modify existing web applications and features. This could include modification of forum configurations, content, and flow. This will also involve the creating, updating, and maintaining of various systems such as admin control panels for in-game content management systems. Economist: Works closely with SQF Developers to set in-game prices/storage/rewards. Duties would include generating economic reports based on given server logs. knowledge of google sheets/excel, finance and statistics are valued as well. We are looking for someone who can interpret data and come to monthly meetings and discuss desired changes.  Position Requirements:
    ALL POSITIONS: Must be at least 18 years old at time of applying. Must have work examples or proof of knowledge for the position you are applying for. Must have the ability to required software/programs to do the role. Must not be completely brain-dead and have the ability to comprehend given tasks and ask semi-intelligent questions if help is required with your task. If I can find the answer on Google in 5 seconds... it's a stupid question Ability to use TeamSpeak as primary method of communication and Discord as a secondary. Ability to tolerate my mood swings and not take the mean things I say occasionally to heart. Ability to self improve based off of criticism.  
    Graphics Designer: Access to Photoshop or another content creation tool. Working knowledge of TexView 2 (to convert images to .paa for A3) is an asset. Map Designer: Knowledge of how to use the Arma 3 Map Editor. Level Design, World generation also an asset SQF Developer: Adequate knowledge of SQF. At least some knowledge of version control systems such as git. Can at least make it by in the Arma 3 Map Editor. Thick skin. Web Developer: Working knowledge of any of the following PHP/HTML/CSS Knowledge of version control systems such as git. Knowledge of common web related exploits and vulnerabilites such as XSS, CSRF, etc. Economist: Post Secondary Finance/Statistic/Economy Knowledge of Google Docs/Excel Must be able to work in a team environment, communicate ideas and suggestions Audit skills are also an asset (To aid in the finding of dupers/scripters)  How to Apply:

    In my opinion, Wipe = End of Asylum, Imagine grinding for years then wipe, This will only benefit for new players, people that played for years might not come back again.

Your feedback and idea's are valuable and we as devs have strived to make our selves available via meetings/civ councils/discord servers. But inevitably as team sizes grow and other responsibilities get in the way it becomes harder and harder to manage those avenues of feedback. Thus we have created a monitored section of the forums for you the player to speak directly to us as a team. You make a suggestion, we reply!

    If you are trying to make a suggestion to an Owner/CM/SA/faction policy maker. This unfortunately isn't the place to make that suggestion. 
    Below are some tips that give your idea the best chance at being implemented
    Focus on one idea per post: It is essential to present a clear and concise suggestion without diluting it with multiple ideas. This allows the developers to fully grasp your proposal and its potential impact. Provide detailed explanations: When submitting your suggestion, make sure to include comprehensive details that showcase your vision. For instance, rather than merely stating "Rework Kavala," provide a custom-made map or mission illustrating what changes you'd like to see. This way, the developers can better understand your intentions and the potential benefits of your idea. Developers' response and discussion: Be patient, as the developers may need time to gather more information or discuss the merits of the suggestion among themselves. They strive to respond to every topic and appreciate constructive feedback. Avoid half-baked ideas: Refrain from sharing incomplete or underdeveloped ideas with other players in this section. Instead, use it exclusively for presenting well-considered suggestions directly to the developers. Constructive contributions: If you come across a suggestion already posted here, and you have valuable input or identify potential issues, feel free to share your thoughts constructively. Your feedback can help shape and refine the idea for the developers' consideration.

    By following these guidelines, you heavily increase the likelihood of your suggestions being considered seriously by the developers and your idea realized.  This is a heavily moderated section of the forums, derailing/toxic comments will be met with forum restrictions.

    Q: Change the price of _____
    A: We look at a whole host of data when making price decisions, Asylums economy is continually monitored not only for scripters/cheaters but also for economic balance. 
     
    Q: ____ APD/AFD Policy needs to be changed/Implemented.
    A: Thank you for your suggestion however,  APD/AFD Policys are handled by Captains (APD) or Assistant Chiefs (AFD) respectively, you can suggest guidebook/policy changes here APD AFD
     
    Q: Bring back/make Tanoa/Stratis/Livonia/Malden
    A: We are currently focusing our Development resources exclusively on Altis as we believe it to be the best Map for Life Servers. Its a suggestion we frequently monitor and if we change our minds you will be the first to know!
     
    Q: Lets use ___ modded pack/content
    A: While Aussie life was extremely fun we found maintaining the pack & difficulties with development were a challenge, combined with the issues related to players installing a mod pack resulted in a struggling server. If in the future we had a large enough development team to create a pack from scratch and maintain a modded pack/map it is something we would potentially explore.
     
    Q: Add ____ Mod to the server
    A: Adding mods to the server creates an extra barrier to entry that we aren't willing to add right now. A player should be able to install Arma 3 and jump right into our server and play!
     
    Q Add ____ New Gun/Vehicle/clothing to the game
    A: Currently the only way to add new guns/vehicles/clothing to the game are through mods, If Bohemia ever adds more vanilla guns to the game know we will be the first to consider adding it to our server - Please see above for our stance on modded content.
     
    Q: Add ____ Skin to the game.
    A: If you have a suggestion for a skin to go on clothing/vehicle we would love to hear it! Unfortunately Arma 3 does not allow us to Skin Vests/Helmets without the use of mods - Please see above for our stance on modded content.
     
    Q: Open up staff apps!
    A: Staff applications are opened on a as needed basis.
     
     Q: Unban/Free ____ Person
    A: While we encourage feedback and suggestions on overall Administrative policy please refrain from using this forum to garner support for a specific individual.
     
    Q: ____ Admin/Mod/SA/Owner didn't handle my report the way I think they should have, you should remove them!
    A:  Thank you for your feedback, Each report is handled individually - However for this type of feedback please speak directly with the Admin who handled your report or a community manager. 

    Q: Anything to do with increasing player speed/health

    A: Player speed is likely something we are just never going to be allowed to alter. 
    Biggest reason is just the nature of how arma 3's movement works. Simple answer, think about the current desync when someone runs up a tower or a high ping player walks around. Now make it x% worse because arma 3's predictive movement is trying to factor in the speed increase we added to them. As for Damage think about how often the downing script has an issue. Damage handlers don't always work well in Arma 3.
     
    Q: Open a second  a third server!
    A:  This is an idea we monitor heavily, know their are many factors to take into account when opening another server (Financial being the least). We want to ensure opening a second server would be the correct move for Asylum long term. Here is a recent thread on the issue
