Been on asylum on and off for 6 years. Have a lot of good memories and made a lot of long time friends. We had a good run but my time here is coming to an end. I would like to give a special shout out to a few folks and gangs who made this a better experience

I have always felt like downsizing the servers we have or decreasing their uptime at all has negative effects. In my opinion its taking the easy way out and down sizing only kept population up in the past on the lower number of servers for a couple of weeks from what I saw. That may change with the performance being better, but I don't think it will. I honestly believe the long term solution of grinding back up to having our old content re-added is the right move.

Instead of dropping server 2. Allow server 2 to only come online once server 1 has reached 80+ players or only come online at xx:xx time. Remove whitelisting(not cops)(idk if this has already been done) allow newer players to come online.(this includes new accounts) Advertise everywhere, even if it's small shit, word of mouth is how majority of us got into this server to begin with. (hell even maybe pay kids to go spam in other servers about asylum) Remove old bans, like 6+ month ago bans(small shit obviously). If you haven't realized it, majority of asylum is the same returning players with far and few between new players. That's all I got for the moment, everyone else can feel free to add shit in here. Just my shitty input tbh.

Keep s1 open full time and open s2 if pop goes above 90 on s1.

I really don’t get it. Everyone kept complaining for them to release v2. So then they finally do and the performance has been fantastic. Now people are complaining that “there’s nothing to do” yes a few things were removed but are most likely being optimized to make them better. There’s still plenty to do.
would you rather play v1 where your in the middle of stuff and server just goes down, or on v2 where you can do anything you want and not have to worry about server crashing

Yo you gotta advertise your new mission file, post on arma forums and arma subreddit about your server and give explicit details on everything. Make sure you say it’s under new ownership and that you are willing to look at perm bans for all the plebs who were banned years ago. Tell them about your new mission file, you gotta fucking market this shit constantly, can’t just expect people to flock back. Make posts wherever you can.
