As we all know the housing situation currently in the game is in need of a rework. We have so many players that horde good real estate, sheds, houses in specific dps and towns. Just about every major town, dp and/or smaller town located around any sort of money maker albeit drugs, crafting, legal ways of making money are all taken. Even houses in the most remote areas of the map with nothing around are owned. This would be totally fine IF the houses were all owned by active players in the community. Something needs to be implemented to counteract people logging on for 5 minutes once a month to keep houses that they don't even use.
Housing is one of the major draws for this server. It's advertised in the title of the server, its a huge integral part of what players want to experience. The argument for never wanting to change is that "we don't want old players to lose housing or people take a break." For the longevity of the server are we really wanting to keep new players or current active players from being rewarded with ability to purchase houses or sheds in areas that they want; just to cater towards people that don't actually play the server but log on to keep their houses??
With housing being such an important part of the server how do you think it affects the new influx of players that start to play, get a little bit of money, but then cant find a house? Or they look at the realtor in game and see everything is marked and being sold for millions. The only reason players can get away with price gouging houses for millions of dollars is because there are no houses for anyone to buy! Looking at battlemetrics the server probably averages anywhere from 50-60 new players a day out of the 400 average total that log in each day. That is 13.75% new players that log in each day that could be converted to long time players. Now of course there are other factors that could keep a new player from not staying, but it is highly discouraging to not be able to use one of the main functions on the server.
Now here is my suggestion for a solution:
I have a system that can be put into place that isn't requiring a lot of activity in order to keep your houses. No tax requirement idea for a money sink, nothing like that. Instead I'm suggesting an idea from reborn that we know worked for them.
Maximum of 10hrs/month required play time. 2hrs per house Able to set a house as a priority so after your first 2hrs of play it will be saved for that month If you do not meet the full time requirement then you lose 1 house that is not the priority home Example: You own 5 houses requiring 10hrs of play, you only play for 6hrs this month. You only lose 1 of your houses, not 2 even though you didn't fully meet the time requirement.(I'm not wanting people to lose all their houses but I feel just losing 1 is enough if the time req isn't met) The house that is lost will be random excluding the priority home Still keep the 30 days of no activity to lose houses Implement an auto afk logout timer similar to WoW to prevent people from afking for the 10hrs required Example: afk for 15 minutes with no movement, clicking, etc presents you with a logout prompt countdown from 30secs and puts you in the lobby when it reaches zero Make sure people are aware that if they are going to be inactive for longer than the 30 days for work, deployment, vacation etc.. that they know it is an option to put in a request with the admins to pause their timers so they don't lose housing That's really it its pretty straight forward and simple. Its not really requiring too much effort to keep your houses. If you can't find time to play for 10 hours a month out of the 720 we are all given then do you really deserve to horde your homes? Now I'm sure you're going to all say, "people can just afk for 10hrs each month and still keep their houses." This is true but I'm sure the admins and devs can come up with a way to counteract that via tracking stats if its not possible to implement an auto afk logout.
In conclusion I'm just one of you guys that has been playing this server for years since 2014 and I want to see it thrive. Maybe this can be one step into the right direction. If you have any other suggestions or ideas on this matter please comment down below and lets try and come up with a solution as a community and not just instantly shut it down.

I have 2 suggestions for gang fort.

    1. Gang fort should be like cartels not allowing people to spawn inside and putting them 300m out.

    2. Scoreboard needs to be fixed because that shit disappears if you die and come back. Maybe add global scoreboard for the time of it being contested showing everyone the score or add a command !gangfort that shows the score

    Hello ,
My names Spek, Ive been around since 2014, was a career cop  LT+  (Chief Elect).  I started the swat training when we could deploy swat for FEDS, banks and prisons. After I retired I took a step back from the hardcore APD end of things (when I was playing 40 Hours + a month as the Po) & then switched to playing the rebel side of life. Over the past few months I bit the bullet and joined DS  @Mason@DS_Billy(no idea why lol, maybe its because they have wanted me for years ) Remember I don't always seize ifrits but when I do I make sure it was @Mitch (IFRIT)  first & the second ifrit that he was able to afford. This community is one of my favorites & the reason I always stay here is my love for the people that make it up and all the fun amazing memories that have been made.
So it's time to get back in action after moving to my new house & being busy with my 60+ hour work weeks(past month has been the biggest bitch at work). NOW THAT TAX SEASONS OVER for work it's now time to Play with speed bombs, pull out the occasional GhostHawk & fly away like a little B*tch when Envy, Syn, FSA & so many others try to .50 cal me out of it.
I look forward to lockpicking your ifrits, taking your drugs, roaching your banks & potatoing all of my shots that over 50m.   @BaDaBiNg_10-8 Be ready for me to camp the prison and lethal you because that's the only way I can get kills

    Much Love & Respect,
    -Spek

    Oh boy a big one
    Change Log 8.4.0

This patch is to showcase some content that we have been working on, and content that will also appear in our mission rewrite when complete. There is a ton more projects underway that have been requested for a very long time.

    Added:
Added APD Evidence Lockup. All weapons seized by APD can be stolen back at the Evidence Locker. End game objective where APD defend, Rebels attack. Initially hack electric fence that keeps civilians out. All cops are dispatched to defend armory. After hacking electrical fence, Rebels must attack the APD and secure the location. Rebels then may spawn a HEMTT loaded with the stolen weapons and attempt to flee. Cops can re-enable the electric fence to stop the robbery. Added Rebel Airdrops. Drops around the island after a cartel is captured with randomly generated loot. Comes with own redzone. Added the ability to toggle the bank lighthouse lights on or off. Added fire escape stairs to the bank roof with included cover for Rebels. Added reflective vests to Constable+. Added black carrier light vest to LT+. Re-enabled JSRS and Blastcore mod support. Changed:
Tweaked "Resilient" talent to respawn player at the nearest hospital to their corpse. Reduced Rebel and BH military Vehicle's price by 10%. Temporary tweaks to Federal Reserve to reduce number of smash and grabs. The algorithm for finding a bounty target has been reworked. Dropping a bounty will now make them a low priority target. Slightly reduced damage done by RPGs to large vehicles. Fixed:
Group members in a vehicle who are in a gang war with you will no longer be red. Adrenaline shots now work again inside cartel capture zones. LTs may purchase the laser attachment again. Governor income is working again. Removed:
Disabled function to check cop gear and automatically remove it from certain ranks. APD staff will still enforce this and take appropriate action. Removed voted admin chat spam.
    Hotfix #1
Tweaked stopping the Evidence Lockup robbery to require APD to clear inside of rebels. Tweaked balance of Evidence Lockup robbery to make it easier for rebels to succeed. Added a check to prevent placement of checkpoint props inside the Evidence Lockup. Added a APD garage inside the Evidence Lockup, accessible only during elevated security, to allow cops to take rebels and evidence back to HQ. Added a check to prevent the Federal Reserve from being robbed during a Evidence Lockup robbery. Added a car garage at the government building in Pyrgos. Removed Drug Field rotation. All Drug Fields will be in their original locations prior to the system being implemented. Removed 2019 promotional skins unlocking. The rewards will be permanently unlocked to those who took advantage of the promotion. Thanks to those who played! Fixed an exploit where the airdrop could be opened prematurely. Fixed a bug with getting up immediately after being downed. Fixed a bug where the cleanup script would not work. Fixed a bug where buying items would not charge your account. Hotfix #2:
Added all deer stands back to the Fed. Removed global tracker from evidence lockup HEMTT. Removed ability to slingload evidence lockup HEMTT. Tweaked evidence lockup HEMTT to spawn locked, requiring lock picking Fixed bug where individual wanted listed charges would disappear. Fixed the downing bug again. Hotfix #3:
Fixed missing mags for MX, Spar 16, and AKM/AK12. Any mag color will now work in the gun. Added descriptions to differentiate Lethal/Downing mags. Added check to prevent joining with the Global Mobilization DLC.

Just over 3 months ago ownership of Asylum was transferred to @BaDaBiNg_10-8 and @Clint Beastwood. A lot has been accomplished in that short time span with much more planned. This topic is to acknowledge those accomplishments and share a roadmap for the future of Asylum.
     Within the first 30 Days
Servers returned to full or nearly full during peak times Opened up past bans for a second chance Brought on a new lead developer 3 contributors were also brought in Removed the unpopular money and group caps Within the last 3 months
Migrated servers to a new host Updated the website front and back end (it needed it badly) Continued to roll out a patch every month that not only fixes past issues but takes community feedback and makes it a reality Increased server stability (While we aren't where we would like to be yet, it has come a long way from December) Upgraded player reporting systems to a streamlined ticket system (Shout out to Mitch for this one) Introduced new weapons to the player base This is just a snap shot from the last 90 days. Even more has been done on the back end to improve server stability and functionality.

Now that we've looked at what has been done, a preview is in order for the future of asylum.
A complete re-write of asylum's code from the ground up Replacement of current MyAsylum page and features A re-work of the housing/crate system Re-work of vehicle, police, and ems lighting White-listed medics Various cartel changes  Additional armor and weapons New vehicle and clothing skins Re-work of talent trees Many more items on the list, these are just some of the features we are most excited for. As with anything in development all points are subject to not only change but may never see the light of day. In an effort to be transparent we felt it was time give a glimpse behind the scenes of what the Dev's are working on in addition to the regular content/bug fix patches. @Mitch (IFRIT) and myself look over the suggestion section of the forums almost daily and take that feedback and pass it a long to the owners and dev's for what the community wants and in some cases doesn't want. And while not everything suggested will be implemented we value that feedback and want to give a big thank you to those who offer it.

As a final note I wanted to take a line or two and say Thank You to the community as a whole. With out you Asylum wouldn't exist. From the admins  who dedicate their free time looking over player reports and compensation requests, to the support staff who sit in Teamspeak everyday waiting to help players, to the gangs whom without the APD wouldn't have much to do, to the APD for keeping the streets safe for the apple pickers and diamond miners, to the Kavalians teaching new players how to put their hands up when being robbed, Thank You. The people are what makes Asylum what it is.
