    flashbangs are a problem for someone like me who gets sensory overload from seriously loud noises or bright things it causes Painful migraines for me and tinnitus for someone like me.

    I can effectively play arma 3 because I play on low bright setting and low audio settings.

    but without warning I suddenly end up with tinnitus a migraine and overstimulation from flashbangs they cause My experience and probably a lot of others experiences to be ruined./

    TLDR I have autism and get overstimulated from seriously loud noises and bright lights which can cause discomfort migraines and REAL [tinnitus]

    Maybe have swat training officers have a button they can press at PD or mobile to activate x amount of swat slots. So probably a SGT  plus thing but definitely a LT and captain thing for sure.

    This other option could be good to. For fed events with LT's and captains on. Like mental or a real fed. The captains could grant slightly better guns and armor. Like a constable getting the promet MR for example. A corp getting the SGT's 150 round drum mag. A cadet getting an MX.

    Or we could include a juggernaut type police swat Heavy armor and big guns mk1 or LMG. However only 2 or 3 slots could be picked and APD officers have to vote on said player (They cannot vote for themselves) Would encourage a bit of teamwork. A balance of it could be that a constable or corporal has to be one of the jugs while Captains cannot. Only one LT could get it ect.

    Just a couple wack ideas. I use to play back in the day of CEO of fed. So i know how events can be cop sided and sometimes not at all.
    Also as an APD officer. Sometimes it was really fucking annoying to do fed event after fed event after fed event. I kinda wanna just roleplay with some people and when its the same people doing the feds it gets boring.

    These options could help with the officers who give 2 lives and give up. While yes somedays i do that too. Sometimes i want to fight it more. Maybe if all officers have given their 2 lives and no luck then any of the above can be done.

    I would absolutely love to have a real convo about this.

    We are aware of certain issues with the way we calculate SWAT deployments and are working towards resolutions that would solve this issue.

    SWAT has mechanics to avoid certain types of evasion. I obviously can't disclose in depth the ways we do this.

    However i think its important to understand the perspective of all groups involved. IE if i and 4 friends begin bank and the cops outnumber us 2-1. SWAT shouldn't pop. Now if an additional group with 5 people attempt to roach us, while the APD might be even numbered and from their perspective SWAT should pop. My groups perspective is that we just got screwed even harder as now we have to fight 5 roaches and a buffed APD. 

    The scenario's that play out at federal events are highly dynamic and its hard to have code interpret fights as they happen and instantly decide if SWAT deployment is warranted. Especially given the vastly different tools and perks each APD rank has at their disposal.

    Its can also be difficult to gauge APD strength as when a federal event starts it can be hard to differentiate between an officer soft logging to deploy to a fight and an officer just flat out logging off. IE 10 officers vs 3 rebels. 8 log off to softlog leaving 2 online. If i just go "Oh look 2v3 lets pop swat" then 8 cops log back on i can't really take back my SWAT popping. 

    SWAT should be deployed in scenarios where APD are in-need of a buff. Having a baseline always swat pop is something we can explore but we have to remember Rebels are intended to be stronger in terms of gear as APD officers have substantially faster respawn & re-gear to get back in a fight.

    Recently with the uptick in fed events its become more and more apparent that certain groups will start feds with 1-2 people and have 10 more show up in an orca a minute later. If possible could it be made so that either...
    -- Each fed event has a designated amount of swat slots
    -- swat pops after a certain number of civs are detected near the fed if it doesn't pop immediately 
    -- a baseline of 3 slots per fed event and increased slots if there are a larger number of civs
    -- have a time mid event where it recalculated how many people are there to allow for slots
    I have been made aware that swat evading is exploiting however its difficult to prove from a cop perspective of it because by the time we do our first push the whole gang is there

    I like that too. People tend to forget or just neglect that they have houses they may not want, use or just are willing to take offers on in general.

    I think better abuse prevention would be: Flat 50k fee, 1m minimum offer, can disable offers in phone. Money refunded after 30 days, when rejected, or when rescinded.

    The real estate market is always active in this community therefore I have a couple ideas that may improve both the communication and convenience of trying buy and sell houses. One of the main issues involved in trying to purchase houses is trying to identify the owner. Another issue is prime real estate in hot areas being taken up and hard to obtain. Below I have listed a couple of remedies for these issues.
    Implement a system to allow players to place an offer on house regardless if it is listed or not. When the owner logs in they'll receive a notification that an offer has been placed and if they accept it, the house will be sold to the buyer. To prevent abuse/troll offers, the money will be automatically subtracted from buyer's account as soon as offer is placed. An offer fee should be added, anywhere 5-10% fee, regardless if a sale is made or not.  There are some broken down stone 1c-3c within illegal areas and other heavily trafficked locations. Can these broken downs be replaced with the normal stone 1c-3c models and have the ability to be purchased? This would increase the chances of someone being able to own a house within these desired areas as well as bring additional activity and player engagement in these places.

    Opening Statement & General Thoughts
    So for this topic, I expect to get a lot of criticism, and maybe even people who will be very unpleasant for suggesting this, but I think that sirening should be a way showing others that there's an emergency happening and for them to move out of the way, or pull over when sirened. Instead, officers are often afraid to use their siren and are afraid of the consequences, for example, sirening in cities to pull someone over or get their attention or any circumstance where you'd need to use a siren officers are now hesitant to do so, I personally have been in this situation before, my general view on it would be that if a person really wanted to hurt me for kill me for pulling them over or for interfering with what they're doing they should be initiating properly not just waiting for us to siren and then shoot us on site.
     
    Impact on Roleplay
    Sirening will often cause to unwanted parties to get involved with fulfilling our duties, it will often result in us getting shot because players get a rush out of shooting a cop who sirened to initiate someone else and it often ends in very toxic and hostile environments between civs and cops. A lot of the time siring will ruin rp scenarios, and especially the fact it's a roleplay server and roleplay should be what we focus on and in my opinion, it's something we should address; I do also understand it's a light roleplay server but some rules in place make it sometimes impossible to roleplay.
     
    Possitives on Sirening to initiate & Conclusion
    Yes, I understand a lot of you will disagree with what I've said and that's fine, I can see why initiating with a siren is often very good for officers and can sort out situations before they turn into shootouts, and yes I do use my siren to initiate quite a lot but it does feel wrong to me, I find sirening often a very easy way to down and get someone in custody but it also has its negatives. Overall, I wish sirening should be reworked and we should as a community figure out how to go about doing that and what the best course of action for this would be, I do welcome constructive criticism and would like to hear your opinion on this topic so feel free to drop a comment below!

    Thank you @Mitch (IFRIT)for your endless hours of self sacrifice to this server. It wouldn't exist right now without you.
    That being said, now that we have the old man in the grave...it is time to get to work.
    To the Community:
    I, like the majority of you, would like to see the Asylum community make it to ARMA 4. That is going to take some work and effort. We, the player base, APD, AFD, Support, Admins, Senior Admins, and Developers, need to get through this together. Literally the only way we can make Asylum last until ARMA 4. We all want to see it, lets make it happen.
    Thank you all for your past, present, and future contributions. Without everyone volunteering their skills, donating, and endless in server hours this place would have died long ago.
    I look forward to seeing were we can take Asylum together and over the coming years.

    Maybe its just me but I feel like the current Idea for "Combat Suicide" is good in theory but misses the mark.
     
    I already hear people saying, "Oh well. I'll just eat a frag/jump off the roof earlier then"

    Seems easy enough to avoid by just killing yourself earlier.

    This isn't going to prevent or encourage people NOT to suicide.

    95% of the CS (combat suicides) are from people who are whoring their bounty. 5% do it so they don't have to deal with the cops.

    This rule should be here to disrupt the 95% who want to keep their tickets and CS, not the 5% who do it to avoid the processing by cops.

    SUGGESTIONS: SGT+ are allowed to INSTANT pardon a criminal if seen CS.

    This would def discourage a large chunk of that 95% CS.

    Section F's are for both extreme circumstances when the APD staff have lost confidence in a CPT, and for when a CPT’s performance is no longer sufficient in the eyes of the APD staff.
    Lieutenants/Sergeants shall attempt to bring any issues they may have to the Captain in question before moving forward with a Section F.

    Stipulations
    As a Lieutenant/Sergeant you must be present at the meeting to have your voice and vote counted.

    The vote against the current CPT will be totaled as follows
    Lieutenant vote will count as 1

    In order for a Section F to pass a supermajority of 66% or higher of the Lieutenants/Sergeants must vote to remove the Captain, with SA approval.
    Should the Section F fail, another cannot be brought against the same captain for 30 days.
    Should the Section F pass. 
    The Captain will be reassigned to either Retired LT or Retired CPT at the discretion of the Lts/Sgts with SA approval
    General guidelines
    CPTs who have done something egregious are placed to Retired LT
    CPTs who served <6 months and their performance is no longer sufficient are placed to Retired Lt
    CPTs who served >6 months and their performance is no longer sufficient may be placed to Retired CPT.
    All active Lieutenants and Sergeants will then immediately vote for the next Captain. The vote for the next CPT will be totaled as follows:
    Lieutenant vote will count as 1.0 point
    Sergeant vote will count as 0.5 point
    >50% is required to send the vote to Senior Admins for final approval
    If <50% vote for a single candidate the selection process will default back to the remaining 2 Captains and Senior Admins.

    Sure, can someone do me a favor and build a life framework first?
    Perhaps a extDB would be a good start as we don't even have a hook into Database like Dayz does. We have to make our own.

    SQF is entirely useless now. Luckily the new language seems reasonable from what ive seen.

    It doesn't take a marketing genius to know sooner is better.
    But you're asking for a lego set before we even know what the building blocks are.
    Its also a Tuesday. Not like anyone got advanced warning of release to take time off work.
