Again, we have no intentions of ever whitelisting medics. If we ever did, you'd see the end of anyone else having a revive ability.

I personally think that white listing medics is just a waste of time. You'd have to set up a chief of medicine and higher ups/apps/interviews/reports, I think it's a bunch of effort for nothing. But if it were to happen you don't "have" to take away defibs from civs. I get the " you have to give them something others don't" but you could have so many options for that. You could give them the cop medic prestige talents/tacs vest/armored vehicles/better helis.

I think you guys can figure this one out pretty easily.  The rig is huge.  There is a boat shop 800m from the rig.  Land is 400m away.  The area where you can cap the rig doesn't have 360 degree visibility of where you can get onto the rig.  This should be pretty easy actually.

Yeah maybe it's fine if one dumbass is capping the cartel. But if it's the same oil rig you don't have many places to land. If you think about the other cartels, would you ever drop in an orca that close to the cap?

One scubba dude and nobody is getting close the those ladders. Now if you have to bring your own scubba dude to deal with one it's just the same problem people had with the cartel before. Someone is going to have to drop the rebel load out and get a scubba set, which takes a decent time.

Yes, some restarts doing rubber will be in a red zone.  Not that many people do this anyway, so not a huge deal.

The oil rig is 400m from land.  Cover and push...

So it's still in the water? Cover and swim? Climb a ladder and get blasted? Drop in an orca and get slaughtered?

    • The oil rig has been moved to be much closer to land.
    • The oil rig will sometimes be the oil cartel.

So some restarts doing rubber is in a red zone? Unless the rig is on land it's going to be retarded to attack.

    Shit's gonna take forever.

Just make it so it doesn't deposit to gang bank while contested?

It doesn't have to be at 100k, you could set it at any amount. Just today we capped drug and when we go to leave it legit had 80$ in it.

That is what I'm saying, it shouldn't just disappear.

The fridge having money in it served a good purpose. Before it was better to set up at another cartel instead of attacking the people taking your cartel. So people would just set up at the other one and just wait for them to attack the next cartel. The money came from just holding the cartels and people would play around that. You would play to get the other gang to log off and you could either beat them off:thinking: or just not show up and wait until they got bored and left. Because defending is easier, and when you win you get to go and set up at the next cartel and defend again while they regear. Win enough the other gang logs off and you just hold the cartel and make a bunch of money. At least up until now you wouldn't want someone to get away with that 100k. But now I can just wait and save my loadout and take it back when they leave. This also brings up that the timer before being able to recap should be higher.

I didn't put a stopwatch to it, but we had drug for like 3 hours and arms for almost 2 and in that time we got 32k. At that rate I have no reason to be in a rush to defend that cartel when I could just go back later and not miss out on much.

TLDR: Either let the fridge build up a bit more before it auto deposits or just get rid of the fridge altogether.

  6. Just now, Gnashes said:

Pretty sure the major complaint to making it auto deposit was to "give something to fight for"

Now making it stay in the fridge is making it worth fighting for?

But by the time you cap it whatever was in fridge when you started is gone. Along with whatever was made during it being contested just goes nowhere. Leaving a good chunk in the crate gives incentive to try and take the cartel and the auto deposit is a good incentive to try and defend and hold the cartel.

  7. Currently the money will disappear if the cartel is contested. If it's contested it should just build in the crate.

I think that it shouldn't auto deposit until it hits 100k. This will give people something to fight over. \

We want you guys to fight.

But cops can now raid contested cartels. A change that discourage fighting cartels. Before you looked to see how many cops are on before starting a fed/bank/prison. Now we have to do the same for a cartel. Is it worth going to stop someone from taking your cartel if 15 cops could show up and sandwich you?

Our main reason for the new policy update was to increase the interaction between the APD/Rebels due to how lackluster it has been all around for both factions and to remove any such thing as a "safe place".

We are going to see how the policy update works out over the coming weeks and adjust/remove it if needed possibly using some of those ideas.

Also, I was never aware this was a thing on Olympus. Good to know as I can now look into seeing how it went.

So my response to any future complaints about this before we have time to see how it fares will be this.

It's not a "safe" place, cops can show up to non contested cartels. But showing up to an active fight and if cops jail one or two people pushing a cartel it will kill all the fights right there. I mean bounty hunting at cartels is very frowned upon and sending just one to jail would end the fighting. The server already kills enough fights, don't give more reasons for people to log off asylum.

Statements like "we are going to see how it works" usually means we don't give a shit and just going to wait till the all blows over and keep it.

    1. You dont get fights, well now youll get a fight.

    2. Not just anyone can go there.  Need a Sergeant +

    3. They have to bring Armor - something to chop.  How is that not a win?

    4. We'll clear out he rats for the owners of the cartel.... how is that not a win?\

    5. Exposing people to cartels that normally wouldnt ever try one, possibly bring along a new gang.

Yeah, but i'd rather not have any fights over fighting someone that will waste the next hour of my life.

Everyone with kneepads now is pretty much a sergeant, it's not like only a handful of sergeants per server exist any more.

I doubt these hunters will ever come close to a fight, all that is going to happen is cops will pick off stragglers and run. Cop vehicles chop for shit and will most likely have a tracker so they are useless.

You say that like you are doing people a favor? The cops won't scoop up the true rats, because the real rats will book it once the cops show up. They will just end up getting the stragglers from the pushing gang.

I think this is just a weak excuse. It's like if you really wanted a candy bar, but you are on a diet and you know you shouldn't. But you've been "good" today, it's that kind of level of excuse.

I really shouldn't give any ideas but, what is stopping the cops from dropping a diver in the water outside og meth or church arms. It will allow the cops to just cop back forever and the defenders almost never have an orca. So they can be stuck at the cap pretty much until everyone is arrested.

Maybe pre group cap this would have worked, but for the most part cops will easily outnumber any gang at the cartel.

I mean like where do the others players have any voice when it comes to implementing changes that affect them? From what it seems there was no outside discussion. It seems like "man it would be sweet to snatch people while they are fighting cartels" "good idea let's make that change." A change like this will go over well in a circle jerk of higher ups, but look what happens when regular players see it.

A long time ago clint, just you and I were capping coke cartel all alone one night. It was that shitty hill with all the fucked up rocks. I remember when durga showed up to come and claim that bounty of yours. I remember you not being very happy about a cop showing up to us capping a cartel. You said to me last night something along the lines of "I like being hated", but is this a good change for asylum as a whole or just for cops? Because you enjoy drinking tears does that make you over look the criticism?

I think things like this really show that rebels need a CM. Because it is bullshit that it seems like cops can implement any changes they want without input from civs first.
