If you choose to spend 10-12k on a load out that is a personal decision, you are given significantly cheaper options.  How about you just make a car drive slower if its over storage capacity?  And to be perfectly frank, I have NEVER seen a cop roll in during a fire fight, take the drugs out of a car and drive off, not once in the 5ish years I have been here.  Ive seen them do it before this change and the drugs poof into the air, but never with the new system.  The qilin is broken as fuck, no matter how much you want to pretend its not.  Literally everyone uses that or a prowler if on cop.  Maybe we just need to remove both vehicles all together?

I have seen it done several times with APD rolling in to a big drug bust and going straight for a seize. The fact you haven’t seen this tells me you didn’t do many drug busts after the policy update or you’re lying.

Nah mate I think you got that confused with this suggestion

Donor HQ made sense back in the day because everyone spawned there for safety from APD. But removing qilins because people don't know how to counter it on cartels is retarded.

Edit: Let me elaborate - one of the problems with Asylum has always been too much focus placed on cartel life even at the cost of the main objective of this mission file which was originally cops vs civs/rebels/robbers. Cartels is something Paratus came up with and Olympus unfortunately copied but lucky for Olympus, McDili had the brains to realize this was a dead end path and shifted Olympus away from a purely cartel focus. Removing qilins for the sake of cartels would be a terrible move because not everyone plays Altis life for cartels and the vehicle has many other utilities for civs besides cartel pushes.

Only issue I have with reducing jail time instead of bail is it completely removes the bail all together.  There is no risk of going to jail at any price because you can just press plates for 5 minutes and be done. Unless the amount of time reduced it in conjunction with the bail itself it would be counter intuitive to the prison system.  I get no one wants to go to jail, but there also needs to be legit punishment for breaking the laws as well.

Easy, make going to prison cost the person money like it does on Olympus but make pressing plates reduce their time. The things Azeh listed are easy fixes (except I disagree about armor stacking, it's not as OP as people claim it is) that Asylum either puts behind a paywall or refuses to do. Aside from the obvious server issues, it's bad decisions and greed that killed Asylum.

So basically if someone runs drugs in a bigger vehicle its impossible to seize tho items? There is no way they will ever make hemmts, zammaks, or box trucks available to every officer.  It would not be a fun event at all...  Cops win a fire fight just to get fucked by some jackass camping the gates at HQ? No thanks.  The server already tells you drugs have been seized giving people an idea whats going on, if you want to rob them you need to use reason and deduction to find it. Shouldnt be gifted to you on a silver platter.  How do you get "cheaper" loadouts? They're free or like 2k.  There is really nothing wrong with the process as it is now.  Even if a cop takes your shit you get it back if you win the fight.  There does need to be some risk, all these suggestions basically remove all the risk from the civs.

SGT+ can easily spend 10-12k a loadout depending on the role they're playing. As for Asylum deciding to give cops access to bigger vehicles, I don't see why not? At the very least a sports hatch shouldn't be able to roll in, combat seize a hemmts worth of drugs and peace the fuck out to hq. Couple that with Constables having heli access + ping notifications and now the Qilin nerf just makes it far too APD biased.

    Sure

No, every arrest does not need to be a server event.

Kill the cops and take your shit back. The entire change was put in place to insure your drugs and guns had somewhere to go and didnt poof into space.

I’m suggesting the instant combat seizure rule be removed, not the mechanic. If anything the mechanic needs to be harder for APD by having them bring bigger transport vehicles to carry the drugs back. The seizure of drugs over xx amt would be a fun server wide event. The APD could say it’s a nerf for them but in exchange I’d just give them cheaper load outs as compensation.

Just because they (the dev team) want to try to fix something that they think is broken, and I though it was broken as well, and does something that the community doesn't want doesn't mean that there isn't an actual playersbase. Sorry if I'm one of the people in the community who thinks its a good thing, but we're all entitled to our own opinions.

There were many better alternatives to choose as a developer but they picked the laziest way to bandaid it.

  7. What would you guys think of a mechanic like this to encourage big drug runs:

    1. Remove LP'ing of the trunk for large vehicles (box truck and above) and force stolen vehicles to be driven to chop shop and the trunk unlocked by the NPC which takes 1-2 minutes. This would force organized groups to go on the prowl for vehicles to rob and gives those people running drugs a fighting chance. Right now the meta is pretty stupid, you roll in and LP something right away and drive it to your house and unload the drugs and/or blow up the vehicle between a couple shed doors.

    2. Force APD to drive an equal storage vehicle to a drug scene to seize the drugs and when drugs are seized, a server wide notification goes off along the lines of, "$XXX amt of drugs has been seized at <location> by the APD for transport". This would encourage civs from all over to head there and fight with the APD.

    3. Remove combat seizing of items from vehicles/people by the APD. This is such a broken rule that should never have been put in from the start.

The reason this really sucks now is that since apex Bohemia has been fucking with the other non-apex cars. The suspension and handling on the hatchback sport is complete garbage compared to what it was. If the concern was to stop smash and grabs they could have made it so gold bars can't be put inside of a qillin. Heaven forbid people make money on Asylum. I wish Gnashes or bamf or who's ever idea this was would realize that people being wealthy means more shit happens on the servers then the same dry shit everyday. The bottom line is that people shouldn't be fearful of losing a load out or two, and I hope Asylum is not going back towards people being fearful of losing a loadout or two because money making becomes that much of a pain in the ass.

This has always been a problem that Asylum devs/owner fail to understand. More money coming into the economy is ok because people will spend it on gear and fight more often. However, they seem to take the opposite approach and think people should be constantly grinding for money or having the APD now swoop in and take your hard work because you can't use quilin's anymore.

Also, if the developers TRULY want a balance here, then force the APD to bring an equal capacity vehicle to seize drugs from rebels (e.g. box truck for box truck) otherwise cops rolling in with prowlers/sports hatch and seizing a hemmts worth of drugs makes zero fucking sense to me. Either that or add NLR for cops at drug fields.

BTW I was a career cop on this server but even I can see this is a dumb change. Also, it's been awhile but have the current Captains removed combat seizing of items from vehicles/people yet? If not, that should be changed ASAP so that officers are required to wait a minimum of 1 minute with no active fire to seize people's stuff. @Clint Beastwood @Clockwerk

  9. I don't think nerfing quilins was a good answer for fed either. They could have just changed the mechanics of how the fed is done by adding a bomb timer that takes 10-12 minutes so that smash & grabs wouldn't be possible at all.

You are clearly part of the problem. Why role play at all if it makes no difference to the outcome?

I think you have the wrong idea here. If you're going to do illegal activities and get caught, you can RP all you want for a lower ticket but your shit is going to get seized.

P.S. I'm retired so I'm just telling you how it is here and other Altis Life servers (worse on Olympus tbh).

pretty sure he mentioned that it's the fact that he didn't want to role play at all.

So we're going to take his word for it? He can RP all day long how he works for P&G and is making pain meds and all the cops really have to say is, "well this field is tainted with AIDS infested blood from Kavala hospital drug addicts, so we have to dispose of it". RP given and resolved. Or they can simply do what Colton said and say, "sorry, it's being seized tough luck". Either way, you're doing something clearly illegal and even if you claim it's for RP purposes, you can't expect to be let go which his post implies.

  12. I hope Poseidon can sort out Asylum but I'm highly skeptical anything can fix it at this point. It seems each time I read these forums the servers are just getting worse and worse. I don't think bamf or gnashes are to blame here either, they inherited Paratus' shit code that he failed to optimize from the start and then once the money ran dry, he dumped this loyal and dedicated community and moved on to his new scam game Identity.

Short of starting over with a brand new mission file and adding in features they want to keep (e.g. Cartels built on new code w/Poseidons help), I don't ever see Asylum righting this sinking ship. It is a big undertaking and it would take at least 3 dedicated coders to push out a new modified mission file and back end that would work for the community. The problem is Asylum isn't alone, Olympus has Jesse, Kurt and others that are pretty dedicated to pushing out large monthly updates and they're always aiming for optimized code and it shows because the servers there are 110/110 all day long and they almost never crash or desync.

The community here was great but as others said, as things became more and more bleak, toxicity grew from despair and now it's just people holding on to false hope and I wish Asylum the best as I have a lot of friends here but I don't see a future and I feel sorry for bamf having to foot these expenses himself with Paratus still holding on to his undeserved 50%. If I were bamf, I'd probably throw in the towel or just go ask McDili if he wants to sell half of Olympus and move on. If you look at this whole situation from bamf's point of view, I honestly can't figure out what motivates him to keep this going as I personally would have folded long ago.
