    Let’s stop kidding ourselves with this bullshit “did the wipe kill it off”.
    game was actually fun for about a week before it got boring. Nobody wanted to log on due to the fact it was the staff’s wise decision to unban known cheating retards, and when I say nobody I mean actual OGs of the server who had played for years.
     
    So all you had left were gangs filled with known cheaters, whom may or may not have been cheating, who gives a fuck. Just the fact nobody wants to be killed by someone who’s been banned off the server twice for cheating, makes the experience not very fun if you think you’re dying to bullshit.

    What really killed the server was Paratus leaving, leaving it in the hands of inept owners for about 3 years who had 0 clue how to fix the BE kick issue, until sold in 2018. Server developed a reputation among Arma players about how dogshit it was, killing almost 4 full pop servers during their “ownership”
    Sure after the sell, you guys kept it online for a few extra years, but let’s be real, anybody who played pre 2016 knew this shit was on life support. After the BE kicks started, the server never truly felt as fun as it was in the good days.

    Life is full of regrets, so is asylum. Last year, my father passed away and my business investment also failed, making me lose all my savings. However, I still need to live strong and thank asylum for giving me three wonderful years.

    I'm going out on a limb here. I love you all who are arguing your points of view. But i gotta be honest where needed. None of you were ever in the position where you were ever really to full understand the subjects you're arguing about. Don't let the friendships, connection or memories be corrupted by the current status of the community. The events that are occurring now are clearly outside of anyone's control. Despite the various people tying to help, it's clear that reason isn't in the room with us. 
    It's alright to be upset, as losing what we have all came to for such a long and weird ass time is bound to hurt. The failure of the server signifies the loss of a common meeting place. 
    No other game can bring a group of random ass people together. Since moving on, gaming has not been the same. I realized that I am lucky enough to experience a true jem here over the years. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity that so many people had no idea was possible. 
    We kept a great corner of the internet alive, thriving, and the world best keep secret. 
    Cherish what you've had here, and stick together more now than ever. There are only a few of you left that have been here long enough to remember the amazing times. It would be a shame to waste it on fighting.
    Hold the line, don't be tempted to blame. I bear a responsibility for where the server is today, it's something that weighs heavy.

    I don't really have a dog in this fight because I just got back Jan 1st. I do, however, have the most hours played this month on the server and am constantly in game. I was surprised at the wipe when I returned. It ended up being a good thing for me at least because I was able to start fresh and get financially to a competitive level pretty fast. The last week It's been the same 5-10 players every night, and usually by a certain time it's me and 1 or two others. This morning, I logged in before work to see 0 players on. It was sad really. I enjoy the server and the core group of players we had a month ago was very supportive. I honestly don't know what could save the server. I know more things to do would be cool. Fix issues that are known and have been known.  We still have a bugged Cotton field. How is that even possible? A garden truck that's for sale that does not work. Delete it or fix it.
          I try and support the new players that do log in only for them to get destroyed by some of the current players that feel like they are entitled to abuse whoever they want. One of the reasons I play here and not Olympus, a server I was in the first 20 players on when it opened, Is because it's not as complicated and busy. You can't do anything on that server unless you have a big gang. One gang has taken over the entire server and RDM's everyone anytime they want. We don't want that, but we need more things to do. I haven't seen the sunken gang boat in a month. It's things like that which allow non gang battle players to harvest good money and do something different. It seems like the devs/Admin get on, do some type of Cop/Gang battle and bounce. 
        The Prestige system is junk. It is a motivation killer and should be abandoned immediately. All it does is force you to make a gang to bank funds if you play solo or risk throwing money into a void. I don't understand why we don't have induvial buyers for the commodities. It seems like a lazy way to do it. Governor is a neat concept but all they seem to do is win, raise taxes to the max, log in to pardon people every now and then, and you never see them again. The talent system for civs pre wipe was a plus for me, but I understand some people didn't care for it. A revamped talent system for civs would be really cool. I've seen several people log in asking about where the talent system was and log out when they hear we don't have a civ one. The last thing we need is another wipe. I would never play again if they wiped all the work over the last month+. Some solid communication an actual enjoyable content that is not recycled old stuff would be awesome. Add mushrooms, LSD, find a way to make fishing viable by raising the rewards for the bigger fish, make diamonds a stand-alone mine and processor with a chance to process flawless stones in the batches. Give us an option to Process Crank into Crystal Meth with the RV and with a 50/50 shot that the whole truck blows up and kills us. Risk vs Reward. 
     
      I am already a Plus member and would continue to support the server if they would really show they want to bring it back. Just my 2 cents worth.

    Thank you all for your patience while we worked on gaming-asylum. The day has finally arrived. Our reopening is here!
    Starting today at 5 PM EST, The gates of asylum will officially reopen, and we can't wait to welcome you back to our server.
    We are excited to share this moment with all of you and hope you are just as excited as we are.
    Your feedback is invaluable to us in the upcoming days to make Asylum better for everyone, with that in mind we will be working on adressing any bugs and or issues in the upcoming week that might arise with this update.

    Please consider using the Asylum Launcher to download the mission file and join the server.
    This helps the server by reducing load from everyone downloading the mission file at once and helps you get in the server faster! (on a normal connection it will take a second or two to download vs the full minute when downloading using the game itself) it will also launch the game and connect you straight to the server.

    Great update overall fellas but I can’t seem to think of any worthy benefits of the prestige system. If anything I feel like people are more likely to find loopholes instead of letting their money go to waste. As well as an increased amount of property hoarding and out of game transactions. If this system is trying to fix the problem of people having too much money, I think we’re going to see the same issues or worse, people losing interest in the server. Not to mention fellas like Leroy who literally do it for status will now have to do even more work for the same outcome or just won’t participate in the new server. Maybe I’m thinking of it too hard and the benefits will outweigh the negative. Hopefully that’s the case and the benefits don’t divide the server even more. Looking forward to seeing it play out.

    Group cap will be increased to 20. Gang group remains unlimited We will continue to monitor and adjust the cap as necessary. We are hesitant to have unlimited groups. We found in the test wipe multiple gangs would group together and steamroll smaller groups/cops.  Regarding the Armed Ghost Hawk, we will be removing the ability to arm the Ghost Hawk from APD. 
    The increased group cap will take effect next time we patch, The Ghost Hawk change will take effect immediately.

    Honestly this is all brought up because of the group cap, Ghawk should only be an option for the APD when certain ranks of the APD are not filled. For example if there are 18 cops but 14 of them are corporals- without the ability to fully staff the swat slots. If the amount of higher rank officers join before or during deployment of the Ghawk it has to be flown back to HQ and stored, proceed with fed event on foot. No reason a Ghawk should be deployed with more than 6 sgts+ able to take leadership or all swat slots being filled immediately after fed event pops. If the APD continues to fail we should honestly bring back trainings for fed events.

    Effective on June 28th 2024 at 6pm EST.
    APD Crime Suppression Unit (CSU)

    In an effort to increase police activity throughout the island, Officers may deploy for CSU. This two man squad will be solely dedicated to responding to 911’s and patrolling illegal areas/cities.
    CSU requires 7 active officers on duty, two officers may deploy for the patrol unit into the required TS channel. This unit must operate in a pair of officers at all times.
    If at any instance there are no longer 7 active officers on duty, CSU must disband and return to regular patrol.
    The unit must be in marked uniforms/cars and are limited to 6.5 caliber max. 
    The unit’s primary objective is to respond to 911 from civilians, and patrol the island. 
    The unit can not use drones at any point, or use a helicopter to patrol illegal areas at any point.
    The unit will be allowed to ignore federal events unless called upon by a SGT+. (Can be ordered by a SGT+ who is on TS but not in game if no SGT+ is online.)
    The unit can not be staffed by the highest ranking officer on duty.
    Undercover
    Going forward, we’ve felt that the APD has lost its sense of identity with the amount of higher ups who have access to undercover. Going forward we will be restricting its use additionally.
    Officers who are Undercover should be conducting their own tasks away from marked units. If a marked unit requests for backup, a UC may respond then should separate from marked units afterwards.
    Undercover vehicles can only be used while conducting undercover situations. (Should switch to marked vehicles for Federal events/assisting marked units when possible.)
    Officers who are UC may follow the server rule, red=dead as long as Use of Force is followed  
    Federal Event Priority List
    Federal Reserve Casino Bank of Altis Prison Temporary Patrol and Ruling Changes 
    No house raiding will be performed at this time
    Officers may not use drones at this time
    All cop ranks will follow helicopter guidelines. (No searching illegal areas without ground units)
    Cops may only respond via helicopter if ground units in area.
    20 30 minute Cooldown for Checking  Illegal Drug Areas (Processors, Fields, Dealers)
    2 1 Life rule for all illegal drug areas regardless of how many cops are online (Ex: 5 cops or less is no longer valid) 
    Officers killed in an Illegal zone have a 1 life rule therefore they cannot return to the fight unless revived. If all officers on scene are KIA. All responding officers in route must divert
    Changes to the Guidebook 
    Terrorism $15,000 - 3 or more Civilians Shooting at police inside an HQ - Due to the threat they pose, suspects may be sent straight to jail at officer discretion

    I'm going to try and address what everyone seems so kerfuffled about, and which I understand for the most part.  This is the exact issue that we as a community have had forever, its the same as politics.  The loudest people are the ones who get heard.  I add something and either people tell me they like it, or they complain about it, then we change it so try and help out the guys who didn't like it, and then the other guys tell me they hate it.  
    We had a community meeting three weeks ago, where I laid out exactly what I was going to be doing for this patch, I removed the tiers because people thought they were confusing, I reworked the Nikolais because people didnt like boat combat, I moved the stash houses because people said they were too close to the cities, and after I do that, people tell me they liked it the other way.  It is great that you guys have opinions about stuff, but when you dont articulate them I'm not sure what you expect to happen.  I said it to anyone that would listen when I got contributor that I was not afraid to try new things to see how they worked, we get feedback, and then we change things accordingly, but at the end of the day I canot divine what people want to be the gameplay, because rebels want more rebel stuff, cops want more cop stuff, grinders want more grind, city rats want city stuff, and then I try and cater to some of these groups and everyone else gets pissed off.
    Nothing is half thought through, the prestige tiers were discussed for 6 weeks with the devs and the sas before they were added, and a similar time frame for removal, theres maybe 5 of us who are trying to boost the pop and carry this community through a tough time.  I don't see any of these complaints in the suggestions forums, I dont see them in my dms.  If you want something done or have an idea say it, if you support something say it, I envision patching again in the next week to rectify what seems to be an incredible amount of unhappiness, I'll be putting some polls up in the discord, if you want your voice heard, make it heard.

    Casino Heist Since the opening of the Athira Casino, the Asylum Casino near Sofia has fallen on hard times.  A nearby Cherokee businessman has taken over the casino and is now running an illegal gambling ring. With more than 5 APD officers online place a demo charge on the front gate of the casino. After 5 minutes the charge will detonate and you will be able to enter the Casino proper Place USB Viruses on the three illegal casino tables inside, and wait 7.5 minutes for the virus to bring the defenses down. Place a drill on vault door, 7 minutes later you will have access to the illegal gold. The Cherokees have strict security, they will fucking body slam anyone who tries to bring something higher than .45 in caliber into their casino.  Trust me, you don't want any of that APD Impound Lot There is now a new tier for shipping robberies, this new tier allows you to deliver hard to obtain supplies to retrofit disabled vehicles at the APD impound lot. Activate “Vehicle Shipment” at Chop Shop NPC for 55k Safely deliver the vehicle to the APD Impound Lot Deliver to NPC, and secure the compound for ten minutes. After successfully defending the compound an armed Prowler will spawn on the upper deck, free to use for the restart.  You will also be paid for your efforts. Beware, the APD are also given two armed prowlers to hunt you down. Shipping cops required Level 1-> 4, Level 2 ->5, Level 3->6, Level 4->7 Virtual Crafting We have built out a new virtual crafting system to allow us to change the recipes around for our more high-powered weapons.  These have been added to the NPCs at Black Market Production for use. The recipes for these weapon parts are as follow: (All ingredients are the processed forms unless otherwise stated.)  All of these new alloys, metals, parts, and blueprints are able to be listed on the exchange.     We are moving away from the prestige system as it stands, it has been a valuable lesson on implementing new content to the server, and we are going to rework it to make it cheaper, and more accessible for players.  ALL PLAYERS WHO HAVE PRESTIGE TIERS ARE NOW ELIGIBLE FOR COMPENSATION. **TIER X IS REMAINING** How to get your comp? Civilian Go to any DMV NPC, (the one where you buy the licenses and unlearn talents) Scroll Wheel on "Refund Prestige Tiers", this will activate a short process to give you your CIV prestige comp The comp goes directly to your bank account, and can only be done once Cop Go to any APD gear NPC Scroll Wheel on "Refund Prestige Tiers", this will activate a short process to give you your COP prestige comp The comp goes directly to your bank account and can only be done once.
