TL;DR  I think we should allow Constables to advanced to Corporal in a less subjective manner much like we do for Cadets progressing to Constable.
Hey everyone, I was recently playing on the server after quite a lengthy break and noticed a few things that I wanted to get your all's opinion on. I noticed the server population is pretty significantly decreased and while I don't inherently consider this to be a bad thing I think it should come with some changes to the way the game is played.
A big thing I have been preaching recently is that the APD is kind of the conduit for RP on the server. We enable most of the civilians to engage in RP and engage in crime with a variable amount of risk. While I think this is true, I don't think it should come unrewarded. With the decrease in population I think it would serve as a pretty awesome incentive to the APD if we had a concrete path to Corporal the same way we have a path to Constable.
This could be something like 6 months as an active Constable and a written or verbal quiz to ensure they have a more than fundamental grasp of APD policies and procedures. This would serve as not only a incentive for people to play actively and have a path to advancement but also serve as another thing for Sergeants to take on while we are low on activity for them.
Thanks everyone! Would love to hear your opinions on this matter.

What about keeping houses, but clearing everyone's house inventory, garages, and 1/10thing everyone's money?

I don't understand. Do the old players play the server because they enjoy it, or because they have so much time invested into it? That might be the problem right there. It is impossible to appease the veteran players if they aren't actually interested in playing, no?
Also, what percentage of the server is veteran players?
@Mayhem, this also applies to your thought.

Wiping everyone was brought up several times with the last community meeting and I personally think it would be a good idea. It would drive away a good part of the community especially those who worked countless hours to build what they have now. Some suggested wiping bank and housing inventories only but maintaining those properties.
You may think “oh he doesnt care if its wiped , hes an admin and can spawn things in”
while it may be true i could spawn things in, id mainly spawn in events for players to earn starting cash and to not benefit my own game but id still have unlimited supplies.
I have always found restarting somewhat fun to an extent but at this time mitch said he has no interest in wiping the server.

TLDR: Wiping the server may drive more long term players away from the community and we wouldn’t want that

It is difficult to avoid the fact that our beloved ARMA3 server, Asylum, is dying.
The server has been struggling for some time now and I think that it is time now that we work together as a community to add some changes. As I have been told many times in the course of my military service, "one solider cannot change the battle but a team can always".
I propose something which I think many players will not like, but I have seen it work many times on other servers at different times.
Reset the server, and make it from the ground-up.
This will certainly be unpopular with the old players who own all the houses in the biggest cities and have 50 ifrits in there garage, but starting new will definitely bring new players to the server, also causing there to be a big rush to buy the houses and make money. It would be very crazy and could be a risky move, but I could think that everyone starting fresh may bring back people who have gotten tired of the server and also attract new players who are interested in the new opportunities.
I also propose that there is a heavier focus on RP implemented into the server. Right now the role-play aspects are very minimal and the RDM rates are high. Everytime I try and go anywhere it's just "bullet hell".
I have also seen other players say that maybe we change the map. I think that would be a good idea but also requires alot of work from the developers I imagine and could be very, very frustrating. That being said, a smaller and newer map could bring us all a bit closer to action and would improve the game-play. Also, new map = fun, lol.

That's all I have for now. Cheers

Initiation range makes sense.  You shouldn't be able to clap a cop in Pyrgos because your buddy killed one in Kavala
Revenge killing is rarely enforced but when it is something someone does get banned for it's incredibly lame.  Before I knew someone who got banned for it I thought it  was referred to using an excuse such as "Well he killed me an hour ago so I killed him on sight".  It really shouldn't be a rule and the only type of person it benefits is someone who fucks with someone and then wants to cry to admins when it didn't go their way.
At the very least it is poorly defined...which is also why people who play report wars don't think try and get someone banned for it.  It shouldn't be a rule though because idk why you would want to ban someone who isn't even acting malicious.  Also I'm pretty sure the person who shot you would appear red for you too which contradicts red = dead

Idk why the new life rule even exists there is no NLR: I also think it’s pretty dumb I have to reinitiate with someone who killed me but they can kill me on sight. Sort of unfair IMO.

What is the radius? I know someone told me before is it something like 2 or 2.5kms?

the biggest issue is that a lot of the rules on the server either arent written anywhere or are written but open to interpretation, which can be frustrating when different admins do different things. Many of the new mods and admins dont even know a lot of the rules that well but seem really happy to take action on any report they deal with

It is flawed in my eyes, if the person came back and killed someone that killed them you would have to have video proof that someone in your group or gang was nearby if you were reported. Because its just going to look like your came back and rdm'd them. It also doesn't make sense that there is no NLR rule on this server but you have to re-initiate with the same person that just killed you. As far as i know this information is not shared in the rules at all. I typically explain how that works to new players because how else do they figure that out. After playing on this server for some time i just found out a few months ago that's how it actually works.

They could give the carrier lite to constables and it wouldent really be a big buff, since right now you can already use csats, and those are better

See normally i would agree with you, but i ain't going to knee pad sergeants for the rank. and unless you do that you ain't getting corporal.

or maybe just have money and be able to buy five houses bozo. Nobody wants two houses, that's literally stupid and useless. Think before you type and get more houses. ill donate one to you for free since your poor and cant own 5.

Why do the consoles break in the first place? talk about a money pit.

Trash. So now only the wealthy players and people who pay to play can afford houses? Got on and can't access any of the houses that I found for market and ones I worked hard to buy. Basically owe around $45,000 per house, how do you suggest I pay for $225,000+ per week and enjoy the rest of the game? I don't know about you but I don't like spending all my time making money. You do realize people are constantly getting robbed or busted by the police gang right? And now I can't even sell the stuff inside my houses, great call.
    House Electric Bills
Every house will now generate an electric bill every 7 days. The amount accumulated is based on how long you are on, types of upgrades, and house type. If you fail to pay the bill, you will be locked out of inventory/keys. Key holders will also not be allowed to access anything, until the house owner pays their bill. Failing to pay on the 8th day, will allow you to no longer spawn there, until you pay your bill. Home owners can pay the electric bill via the house menu

One would think before adding all this new shit you would optimise and fix any issues with other shit you added that doesn't work properly.

i didnt expect that the multi million dollar consoles would be able to generate a couple hundred dollars before breaking. Never in Asylum's history has there ever been an item more expensive, or rare, and yet it seems mostly useless.
