    Howdy Everyone!
    We know it's been a wild couple of months here on Asylum.  We've made a lot of changes and are continuing to do so to enhance the Asylum experience.  As we look towards a better Asylum community, we want to thank all of our loyal players for sticking around to make this place what it is.  
    In the last 10+ years we have had a lot of ups and downs, from dealing with the depths of the pandemic, to Turkish lawyers, and rough days at work, this community has always been a place for people to come together to be away from the outside world.  We just want to thank everyone for being a part of this crazy community we call Asylum.

    I would like to announce a few things. First things first, I would like to apologize for being too disconnected from the community. I could make a list of reasons as to why this was the case, but those would just be excuses. The only person to blame for the current situation is me. I will be around weekly at a minimum going forward to assist the admin team.
     
    To help remove some of the weight from the Senior Admins(SAs) plate, Community Managers(CMs) will be added to the team. Their only duty will be to ensure the pulse and health of the community is at the forefront. The SAs will continue to run the admin team. They are separate roles but of equal rank. This will help each role focus on what matters most, the health of the community. That being said, welcome our Community Managers:

    Its simple new players join the server, get frustrated because its so slow and everyone with money fucks them over at every chance they get
     
    1) x3 the sell price off all items as a start and tweek the numbers after a week or so to get a good balance
    2) Split mining from quarry and High yeld quarry into the parts ( copper,Iron,Diamond) as rng for new players is just silly
    3) have a protected money making way  for example Copper if a player is doing copper they cannot be robbed so if a rebal finds someone mining the can search the truck by lock picking as soon as they see copper they can't touch it make it a banable offence ( not as much money as anything else but a state to protect new players)
    4) there is only 1 server lower the ammount of houses people can own as new players can't get any even semi decent houses and lower the max cap they can be sold for

    @KernikovIf you wish to improve the AFD , nerfing the APD or making them work togther wont work , you been here for a long time you should know it , no officer would want a medic to Ride-Along with them , I can only advice that you attempt to suggest stuff that will improve medic faction with out involving the APD , I dont belive it will get you far , but I may be wrong .
    Also I hate to agree with @Chow Mein but I have too .

    As Active Chief of EMRs , I take it as my personal fault , you clearly missed heli practice as an EMR and as a result you failed the race to the cop medic . i will talke to Chief of EMS @JimJim in regards to heli training for EMRs .

    3+ years active sgt , used to armor spam buy loadouts never got on civ and still made a lot of money on cop , you make money of drugs , and other small things .
    And yes am not used to being a voice of reason either .

    How about an Inactive higher up make the effort to make his officers RP more rather then make them robocop every person that gives the APD a real fight. Even your LT MK loadout cost close to nothing. Cop isn’t a money-making faction, so go on civ to make money. It doesn’t matter if you get shit on in a fight, you should still make an effort to RP with civs and REDUCE their ticket price for their explaining instead of going to jail. The reason a civ would go to jail is not to waste his time getting a high ticket he can’t pay, because the cops are butthurt and you as an higher up should hold up to those standards and not make robo-coping a policy.

    Getting rid of the "would you like to explain your charges" will not do the server any good.
    The APD, as a roleplay faction, should be concerned with trying to promote RP over anything else. Like @killer11said, if you want to make money go on civ. When civilians play the "when you're in Kavala" soundboard, interrupt them and ask them questions about their story. If they don't respond then you know they are using a soundboard. Give them a ticket.

    I feel like the reason so many civs don't bother to RP anymore is because cops still give huge tickets when they do. Anecdotally, I've explained my charges with an original RP story about 10 times in the last month. Not once did I receive a pardon. 6 times out of 10 I got a half ticket. Why would civs go through 10 minutes of explaining just to get the same ticket they would've gotten from screaming slurs?

    You are a training officer. Host some RP trainings. APD has the biggest potential to improve RP on the server and you are in a position to make it happen. But the answer is definitely not to just get rid of it altogether.

    This is mainly a coniuation for SRT getting better personal protect such as CSATS and Granite's that can be found here: 

    The conversation's main focus led to this post being made and that adjustments needed to be made. The armor that we currently have is insufficient, with a simple one-bullet leg shot doing the average SRT enjoyer in. This does not help because most SRT members use 5.56mm and 6.5mm. The last comment mentioned on the previous thread stated, "Adding Granite B's/CSAT/Pilot coveralls for SRT has been an ongoing conversation for some time that we have yet to reach a consensus on." So let's end that debate here with a poll!
    Other solutions have been voiced in TS and on the forums, so I'll start the list of what has been suggested thus far. As always, new input from everyone is greatly appreciated.
    Allow SRT to have CSATS/Granite Bs as an additional payment option. Normally, each respawn will cost you 5k. Make it so that it is increased to 10K as an option to use extra protection to balance. (Personally, not a fan of this since an uncap is 20k already, and depending on the type of day you're having, it will be more of a loss than it's worth.) Allow SRT to UNLOCK CSATS/Granite B at around 50 kills. This way, you'll spawn with the usual SRT default gear and change it out later at the vendor with no additional cost. There are others that I'm clearly forgetting, but this is an excellent vehicle to work with regarding this conversation and possible solutions. I would also like to hear from a developer perspective as well so that I can get more of an understanding of the tech side of things. Thanks for reading if you did!
