  1. Both are valid points and respectable in their own right. Allow me to bounce these points back to you and let me know how you think. I really love the response, I'm open to seeing this.

I agree 100% when it comes to the RA and asking questions that are actually applicable.

My RA’s for example are exactly that. I don’t believe in bullshit trick questions or complex questions that are only meant to be stump/confuse the cadet but they’ll never come across it ingame.

At the end of the day, the cadet at the time they’ll be taking their RA isn’t going to be a expert on the guidebook just yet. It’s a learning process that continues once they actually achieve the rank. It’s more important they can function as a constable in basic tasks then know how to tackle some complex task but now know how to process anything.

I, for one, don't like trick questions either. I believe in worded scenarios that you /could/ see out in the field, but trick questions are counterproductive in my eyes. However, with a mandated week implemented, those essential core functions would stick more than being distracted on the civilian faction and just focusing on training and being ready for when they make it to the constable. After that, it's more than okay for them to take a break and go on civilian more if they wish, which would help them in the long run if they do.

This is not an issue. What is an issue is the fact that half of the whitelisted constables on the server can run around with less knowledge of the guidebook than said cadets because they've been inactive for the better half of 4 months and have been allowed to keep their rank. My wild guess is that if you were to give a surprise ride along to any given constable, there is probably less than a, generous, 60% chance they would be able to pass it. Whether that be a problem with the test itself and how it concerns things which aren't necessarily applicable on a day-to-day basis of patrolling, or a problem with how incompetent the whitelisted members of the server are.

Restricting people from playing with their friends on civilian was also such a stupid thing, and put a lot of people off from getting cop.

Constables also can't buy CSAT's on cop unless I pay irl money for an RNG chance at them which is giga cringe.

There is so much more wrong with how the APD functions than this, don't punish the newcomers for the faults of the system.

With the current people in place, historically speaking, they'll phase themselves out or get points from an LT that would make them leave. Seen it before; it'll keep happening often. Tests are made by the individual SGT's, so maybe that can be worked on. I can't say for sure at this moment. I wouldn't like it either if I was cut off from my friends on civilian if that happens. Still, in terms of new players making a flow into the APD, it can easily be managed so that said friends could apply together and just ride out the week all at once (Saying this on personal experience). As for CSAT's, please correct me if I'm wrong, but that's more of a Dev/owner issue. I don't think captain would have any control over that.

two humans spent a large chunk of their adult lives raising this individual and this is how he turned out

If you think about it, his ancestry goes back to the black plague in Europe. So if you really think about it, his ancestors survived and made a lineage to lead up to this moment. Making the line proud.
