Just over 3 months ago ownership of Asylum was transferred to @BaDaBiNg_10-8 and @Clint Beastwood. A lot has been accomplished in that short time span with much more planned. This topic is to acknowledge those accomplishments and share a roadmap for the future of Asylum.
     Within the first 30 Days
Servers returned to full or nearly full during peak times Opened up past bans for a second chance Brought on a new lead developer 3 contributors were also brought in Removed the unpopular money and group caps Within the last 3 months
Migrated servers to a new host Updated the website front and back end (it needed it badly) Continued to roll out a patch every month that not only fixes past issues but takes community feedback and makes it a reality Increased server stability (While we aren't where we would like to be yet, it has come a long way from December) Upgraded player reporting systems to a streamlined ticket system (Shout out to Mitch for this one) Introduced new weapons to the player base This is just a snap shot from the last 90 days. Even more has been done on the back end to improve server stability and functionality.

Now that we've looked at what has been done, a preview is in order for the future of asylum.
A complete re-write of asylum's code from the ground up Replacement of current MyAsylum page and features A re-work of the housing/crate system Re-work of vehicle, police, and ems lighting White-listed medics Various cartel changes  Additional armor and weapons New vehicle and clothing skins Re-work of talent trees Many more items on the list, these are just some of the features we are most excited for. As with anything in development all points are subject to not only change but may never see the light of day. In an effort to be transparent we felt it was time give a glimpse behind the scenes of what the Dev's are working on in addition to the regular content/bug fix patches. @Mitch (IFRIT) and myself look over the suggestion section of the forums almost daily and take that feedback and pass it a long to the owners and dev's for what the community wants and in some cases doesn't want. And while not everything suggested will be implemented we value that feedback and want to give a big thank you to those who offer it.

As a final note I wanted to take a line or two and say Thank You to the community as a whole. With out you Asylum wouldn't exist. From the admins  who dedicate their free time looking over player reports and compensation requests, to the support staff who sit in Teamspeak everyday waiting to help players, to the gangs whom without the APD wouldn't have much to do, to the APD for keeping the streets safe for the apple pickers and diamond miners, to the Kavalians teaching new players how to put their hands up when being robbed, Thank You. The people are what makes Asylum what it is.

    Added-
Wearing a gang tag for a gang in which you are not in will result in admin action. This is being implemented to reduce the confusion during initation, gang wars, etc. It should go without mentioning that this has the potential to negatively impact a gangs reputation if unauthorized users are representing a gang's tag.

The best retriever is a retriever that doesn't retrieve shit at all, He just goes after the ball sniffs it and then picks it up and drops it. Cutest idiot I've ever seen

    Hello all,
In an effort to bring transparency to Asylum, we have created a section where you can ask your honest questions. There is a slight format requirement to allow us to easily understand your question. It's provided at the top of the new forum section under the "Life Discussion". @BaDaBiNg_10-8 @Clint Beastwood @Leady and I will provide any answers to the questions posted there. Note, this is not a "How to" section. If you have questions about server mechanics ETC. Please Visit the Asylum Wiki, or speak to a support team member. They can be found in the "Staff Directory"

If anything, you’ll be averaging more profit with each bank robbery with the new method

You got to Asylum's richest #2 spot in the first week you started playing. After your ban you did this:

and look at the timing, we're about to patch the exploit!

Update will take automatically on all 3 servers as they restart naturally.
    Added:
Added ability to repair/refuel vehicles in garage. Changed:
Changed the system for chat commands. "!" is also the trigger now. For example: "!911 Help" or "!e ninja".  Changes to code syntax/formatting. Many minor optimizations. Modified Precinct 3 whitelisting. Renamed BABS to CABS in one place.  Renamed certain files to remove duplicate names. Reworked APD charging menu & wanted list. Reworked clothing shop menu. Tweaked bank payout to be dependent on the amount of cops online. Tweaked pickup of donor items. The sell price of diamonds has gone up. Fixed:
Fixed federal reserve robbing animation where you would get stuck in an animation after drilling a safe. Fixed drill stopping animation at the bank where you would move around unless you had a primary weapon in your hands. Reworked virtual item shops to fix item prices.
    Hotfix #1:
Fixed Skiptracer clothing menu. Various wanted menu tweaks.

For the past couple of months, the rebels have slowly taken over Altis Island #3. Over time, the APD presence has been dwindling on this island due to the power the rebels have gained. The APD has responded by implementing an organized task force on Altis Island #3 to combat the rebels. Effective immediately, Altis Island #3 will have its own precinct of highly trained officers to combat crime and fight the war on drugs and alcohol.
    Drug lords, beware.
Civilians, the rebels’ reign of terror is over.

see, this is the type of shit that I'm talking about. I try to give you the info that I have. And it's not good enough or there is some bullshit response. I'm just telling you what we see. And I can assure you, we had the same amount of players on prior and still experienced issues. But you wouldn't know that, right?

    Hello all,
In regards to the gang activity question....
Moving on to your first post. The issue was not with the question you were asking and the general inquiry that you presented. Reading through the post, I found that the issue was within the responses that some people provided. I too agree that our player base is in a bit of a dip right now. I could site many times that we have gone through this and provide some data to back it up. But I truly don't believe that this will help to address your concerns.

    Moving on.

A point that a few people pointed out the "Stellar issue". Since you are not aware, I'll get you up to speed there. A while ago, we implemented a donation reward system that allowed the community to donate towards a common goal that benefited everyone. This was a great system and there are a lot of great incentives within. However, there are people within the community that decided to knowingly abuse and exploit the rewards that this provided for their un-natural personal gain. This was a huge disappointment to everyone on the administration team due to the scale of people doing it. Not to mention, many of these people that exploited the system, admins were familiar with and from time to time played with. When we started to uncover the actions at hand, we placed bans on peoples accounts and reset them. A long-standing common practice for Asylum. We take duping violations seriously due to the ability for illegitimate players to ruin the experience of players who work hard to grind their cash. Think about the repercussions of a player with 1,000,000 dollars in their account. If they had to work to earn that cash, they are going to be wise with how they spend it. If you have a player with the same amount of cash who exploited the system to gain it, they are not going to care how they spend it as they can just get it back in a very short amount of time. This lack of care can cause any person to be reckless. That's the biggest reason we have a firm and harsh stance on it, we want to look for your gameplay.  Their gang thread was hidden due to the continued messages about moving servers. That's fine, it's their choice and I personally won't beg anyone to stay. Especially when they're leaving because they are upset they made the decision to exploit a system and are now being held accountable.  We will not give people a platform to advertise moving to any other community. If that's their desire, then they may do so.
Moving on to the mentioned "Poor Administrative Decisions"
In my time here on the team of staff, I have never found any person that was banned by an admin to be thrilled about being banned. There are roughly 6 people that I can recall to ever take accountability for their actions when being held accountable by any staff member.  We have guidelines in place that the admins operate within. You have @Leady  and I to contact if you believe you have been wronged. We always advocate you to contact the admin in question before contacting us again. Often times, once a line of communication is opened, they often find a middle ground. With that being said, often people here on the internet would rather sound like a jackwagon to get a sound clip to look cool in front of their internet friends. Many players straight our disrespect staff when speaking with them, and in turn, completely reduce their chances of getting any further help on that issue. Plain and simple, when you find yourself in that situation, take accountability for what you have done, learn from it and move on. It's the best advice I can give to anyone.
    Server performance issues
I understand that everyone is terribly irritated with the server performance issues. This is the number one priority that everyone that has the capacity to fix, is working on. Often, post about this issue is a bit tongue in cheek. The server owners are more bothered by this than anyone else here. It's their company and it's a direct representation. They truly are working their hardest to make the most ground that they can. There are millions of areas within the code that could be causing these issues. We recently moved to a new host provider to help diagnose these issues. I can confidently say that we have seen some improvement from this move, we see less server restarted needed manually each day than we did before. This coupled with the ton of changes to the mission file. However, I do understand that the end user does not always see these changes, and that has to be extremely frustrating. As you can see in many of my posts, I am always grateful for the amount of support we get from our players. We all realize it's your decision to be here, and we are grateful that each and every one of you. Without you, we would have nothing. We owe our absolute best to every member to provide the best experience we can. Sadly, there is no easy button. We are truly confident that we are doing the absolute best that we can with some of the greatest people out there.

    Censoring content
This has always seemed to be a push button topic. I personally do not have a hard time responding to legitimate questions, but I often don't get the chance before it's turned into a witch hunt. So to create a better line of communication and to provide an area for these questions and answers to be heard by everyone. I will create a Q&A section. In this section, any member can ask a question and either Leady, Badabing, Clint and I will be able to respond to it. Be advised that the questions will not show at first and must be approved to weed out the people who are just doing it for the memes. However, just because it's a hard question to answer, doesn't mean that we won't. There will be further guidelines and details released on this soon.

As always, my inbox is open for anyone to contact if they have general questions and concerns. I often have great conversations with people who take it seriously.
    Hope this helped,

    Mitch

Due to an increased number of players reporting others for combat log and VDM when not involved, we've decided to make a change to our player reporting policy.
    Going forward:
We will no longer be taking 3rd party reports for Combat Log and VDM. You may still use evidence from another player to support your perspective if you were directly involved and they were not.
    Thank you

Do you even hear yourself when you say that? Memes are flame wars. Some internet dumbass brings personal life into it. If you guys had the possibility to keep it within "gaming" I personally wouldn't give two shits. But time and time again, it turns into a dick swinging contest until someone gets hurt. Then it's running to the admins. Ha. No.
