    Remove the captains' ability to bend the rules of the guidebook. No point in having rules if they aren't going to be followed. Guidebook should be more specific and outline the rules clearly otherwise people get away with doing shit they aren't supposed to because of a technicality. 
    Noticed a lot of issues with lethals lately as well. Cops are very quick to lethal and the judgement of higher ups is becoming very diverse and subjective. Recently was full lethaled 13v3 by cops on First ATM. The situation itself was hopeless for us and downing would have been the logical option as we had no where to go (no orca).

    Good Evening Friends,
     
    First off I want to thank the community for your support.  Because of your support we continue to try to bring you guys new content and new changes that hopefully spark the fun that Asylum was founded on.  Because of your continued support, our developers are working very hard to produce you the new version we are all looking forward to.  We are on the home stretch and I thank you for your patience.
     
     
    Next order of business is a change that none of us saw coming, but, one for the better.  My business partner and long-time friend @BaDaBiNg_10-8 has taken a new opportunity at his work.  Because of this position Bada, unfortunately, will no longer have time for Asylum.  As an Administrator, player and an owner he has spent the better part of six years with this community.
    Thank you for your diligence, hard work and most of all your friendship to us.
     
    On a more business related note, our Developer @Jesse, will be taking over ownership of Asylum along side me (after a few more items are hashed out of course).  Jesse has spent the last 6 months revitalizing and securing a future for Asylum.  Jesse will continue with design and development of our servers and the new and exciting future of Asylum V2.

    Hey all,

    So currently the development team is looking for some additional help. We are in need of people for various specialized positions. To help streamline the process we've also created a new method for submitting applications for the positions listed below.
    Positions Available:
    Gfx Designer - 1 Position(s) available at this time Map Designer - 1 Position(s) available at this time Content Developer - 1 Position(s) available at this time Web Developer - 1 Position(s) available at this time Description of Positions
    Gfx Designer: The role of the graphic designer is to support the other positions (web/content/map) by creating graphics not limited to but mainly textures/icons/images. These graphics could be displayed on the website, in-game on billboards, or used on new textures for vehicles. The content created is to be of quality and should show that thought and effort was put in to the work. Map Designer: The role of the map designer is to support the on-going in-game development of the content developers and creating new map areas or modifying requested portions of the map from either the developers or from upper server management. You could be creating totally new areas on the map for a new server event, new runs, or new objectives. You could also just be making slight adjustments to object orientations and helping perfect object placement on the map and such. Content Developer: Developers are going to be primarily working on new in-game content, bug fixes, exploit resolutions, etc. This role is relatively self explanatory I feel... Web Developer: The role of the web developer will be to create or modify existing web applications and features. This could include modification of forum configurations, content, and flow. This will also involve the creating, updating, and maintaining of various systems such as admin control panels for in-game content management systems. Position Requirements:
    ALL POSITIONS: Must be at least 18 years old at time of applying. Must have work examples or proof of knowledge for the position you are applying for. Must have the ability to required software/programs to do the role. Must not be completely brain-dead and have the ability to comprehend given tasks and ask semi-intelligent questions if help is required with your task. If I can find the answer on Google in 5 seconds... it's a stupid question Ability to use TeamSpeak as primary method of communication and Discord as a secondary. Ability to tolerate my mood swings and not take the mean things I say occasionally to heart. Ability to self improve based off of criticism.  
    Gfx Designer: Access to Photoshop or another content creation tool. Working knowledge of TexView 2 (to convert images to .paa for A3). Map Designer: Knowledge of how to use the Arma 3 Map Editor. Content Developer: Adequate knowledge of SQF. Knowledge of version control systems such as git. Can at least make it by in the Arma 3 Editor. Thick skin. Web Developer: Working knowledge of any of the following PHP/HTML/CSS Knowledge of version control systems such as git. Knowledge of common web related exploits and vulnerabilites such as XSS, CSRF, etc. How to Apply:

    I am looking to fill these positions as soon as possible. More positions are likely to open in the future, however to minimize impact on the team and to keep things rolling smooth, we're slowly going to recruit help.     Illegal Areas (two life rule)  **UPDATE**
    When entering any illegal area, officers now have a two life rule.
    Officers may only patrol illegal areas once every 20 minutes if no suspicious activity is observed that requires their attention.
    Officers are allowed to return to illegal areas before the 20 minute timer is up under the following circumstances:
    If a 911 text is sent within the illegal area. If a fugitive pings from inside of the illegal area. If a vehicle with a tracker enters the illegal area. If nearby traffic enters the illegal area. Active visual pursuit into the illegal area. If an officer needs to update a warrant or APB. If an officer dies within an illegal area, they may return one more time per engagement.
    The two life rule does not apply when there are 5 or less officers online.

    I agree 100%
    I want to see no payout or pardon when a cop lethals someone. Lethals should be used as a last resort for cops to gain control of a situation. In my opinion there should be no reward for killing someone. This would promote more downing and we would have more people on the map with big bounties. Rebels should only lose their bounty when they are captured not killed.

    Effective Immediately
    Vehicle Seizing Policy (Lieutenants)
    Lieutenants may no longer repair any illegal vehicle and drive to the closest headquarters for seizing.
    This policy may come back in another form in the future, but for now it is being removed.

    All officers must follow the proper vehicle seizure policy.
    An area must be deemed "all clear" by the highest ranking officer on scene before any vehicles can be impounded or seized. Vehicles may be seized in combat if at an HQ. You may search/seize contraband from a player or vehicle at any time or place, even if in combat. You may only seize a vehicle which has over $5,000 worth of contraband in it if the suspect is aggressive and/or evasive. If the suspect is compliant, does not shoot back, and cooperates fully with APD officers, you are not allowed to seize their vehicle. Seizing and impounding can occur before or after a ticket has been issued. If there are no nearby police vehicles to put a civilian's contraband in, officers are allowed to drive the civilian's vehicle to the nearest HQ, checkpoint, or garage. Officers may then pull out a police vehicle, seize the contraband, and then continue to impound/seize the civilian's vehicle as normal. This does not apply to illegal vehicles, which should never be driven by an officer. Cartels
    Cartel raids have been removed completely.
    Officers may only enter an uncontested cartel if tracking a warrant or in active visual pursuit. If a cartel is contested, officers may only enter if in active visual pursuit.
    Uncontested Cartel
    Officers may only enter an uncontested cartel under these circumstances:
    Active Visual Pursuit APB or Warrant Tracking Contested Cartel
    Officers may only enter a contested cartel under these circumstances:
    Active Visual Pursuit If an officer has a warrant or APB tracker near or in a cartel (contested or uncontested), the officer may get just close enough to update their warrant and must leave the area once the warrant is updated. If the warrant remains in the area, officers may set up a perimeter around the area within a minimum of a 1km radius of the cartel to wait for the suspect if they wish.
    Federal Reserve
    During an active Federal Reserve robbery, officers may not seize gold bars out of a vehicle unless there is a 1 minute all clear.
    If the vehicle with gold bars manages to escape the Federal Reserve and is stopped en route to a rebel outpost, officers must now wait for a 1 minute all clear to seize the contents out of the vehicle.
    Officers, under no circumstance, may enter a vehicle with gold bars in it to drive back to the nearest HQ for seizure.

    Rebel Air Drops
    APD officers may not freely patrol rebel air drops.
    Officers may only enter a rebel air drop area under these circumstances:
    During Active Visual Pursuit APB or Warrant Tracking Temporary Policy
    There is currently bug where a suspect's individual charges may not be displayed in some circumstances.
    If a suspect's individual charges are not able to be displayed, officers are not required to read off individual charges to the suspect, but may use their current bounty price as their "current charges."
    For example, if a suspect's individual charges are not currently showing up, you may use any variation of this line to "read the suspect their charges."
    "You are currently wanted by the State of Altis for $75,000. Can you tell me what happened?"

    Gear Check Removal

    With the removal of the gear check for APD officers, comes the ability for officers to equip all gear.
    Any officer found equipping gear suited for a rank above their own will be liable for up to 6 points (removal from the APD).
    Lieutenants+ may hand out Carrier Lite vests to officers during bank, federal reserve, and evidence lockup robberies, or prison breaks. Carrier Lite vests given to lower ranking officers may only be used during these engagements.  
    Responding to Federal Reserve, Bank of Altis, and Prison of Altis

    With the increase of recent rebel activity, officers are only required to respond to the Federal Reserve, Bank of Altis, and Prison of Altis two times before they are allowed to redeploy and continue patrolling elsewhere on Altis.
    Any officers found to be abusing their two lives by wasting their lives (not valuing their life) may be liable for disciplinary action.
     
    Safety Vests
    Blue and yellow safety vests have been added for all officers at the rank of Constable+. Safety vests may be freely used by all officers as part of their uniform.


    Response Priority
    Federal Reserve Bank of Altis Prison Break Evidence Lockup Robbery This is likely to change, but for now this is the response priority.
     
    Temporary Policy Update
    Adrenaline Shot Bug
    With the current bug of suspects being able to get up from being downed earlier than intended, lethal ammunition is currently authorized during any of the following:
    Active Federal Reserve Robbery Active Bank of Altis Robbery Active Prison Break Active Evidence Lockup Robbery Any fire fights directly resulting from any of the above, if not currently active.

    Hey all,

    As some of you may have read/heard we're actively working on making a new mission file that essentially mocks the current. I actively tried various things to fix the server crashing issues since transitioning here and fell short of anything reliable to determine the issue. I've essentially given up on looking for and debugging for that issue after a couple months of trying. We were going to originally just make a new mission from the ground up, however, after a chunk of hours spent on that the idea was canned. It was proving to be too much time to recreate the wheel. However, now we have an original 3.1.4.8 mission file that we're working on rebuilding and recreating the current features.

    Going forward we're going to be modifying some features and making some stuff work differently from the current mission as well. You should expect a new housing system, a new talent/prestige/infamy system as well. We will be looking for community feedback on how they'd like to see some of the new systems to find out what is/isn't currently working with the current Asylum and what could be done better.

    Regarding a timeline... there really isn't one. As I mentioned on our last patch note I recently had my mother who broke her dominant arm and sprained her opposite wrist. She was pretty bad the first week or two and is getting better and able to lift and do a lot more stuff now. I also have picked up a girlfriend in the meantime as well. My time is currently stretched even thinner than before. I do however, have @Azeh helping with the new mission to do some of the redundant and monotonous stuff. The rest of the team is working on the current mission to just try and keep up with bugs and content releasing.
