game was actually fun for about a week before it got boring. Nobody wanted to log on due to the fact it was the staff’s wise decision to unban known cheating retards, and when I say nobody I mean actual OGs of the server who had played for years.
So all you had left were gangs filled with known cheaters, whom may or may not have been cheating, who gives a fuck. Just the fact nobody wants to be killed by someone who’s been banned off the server twice for cheating, makes the experience not very fun if you think you’re dying to bullshit.
What really killed the server was Paratus leaving, leaving it in the hands of inept owners for about 3 years who had 0 clue how to fix the BE kick issue, until sold in 2018. Server developed a reputation among Arma players about how dogshit it was, killing almost 4 full pop servers during their “ownership”Sure after the sell, you guys kept it online for a few extra years, but let’s be real, anybody who played pre 2016 knew this shit was on life support. After the BE kicks started, the server never truly felt as fun as it was in the good days.

To the Community:
I, like the majority of you, would like to see the Asylum community make it to ARMA 4. That is going to take some work and effort. We, the player base, APD, AFD, Support, Admins, Senior Admins, and Developers, need to get through this together. Literally the only way we can make Asylum last until ARMA 4. We all want to see it, lets make it happen.
Thank you all for your past, present, and future contributions. Without everyone volunteering their skills, donating, and endless in server hours this place would have died long ago.
I look forward to seeing were we can take Asylum together and over the coming years.

Arma’s a dying game
Asylum’s rep is terrible even amongst the dying population due to BE kick era
The wipe nosedived cuz we decided unbanning cheaters was a priority when the server population was maxed out (hey guess what, legacy players dont like getting killed by fat cheating retards)
there’s no deeper explanation, it didn’t fail cause their were no updates or whatever. People grew up, and started their lives and not enough players replaced them cause arma 3 is a dead game.
should’ve made a reforger server, all the life servers are popping with the influx of console gamers, even if it is the worse version of the game
