Wish you would provide context on why this wouldn't work and why in about every other RP simulator/Arma high population server it is used to bring life back into a stale Meta/Server except Asylum, but instead you resolve to calling people names like always because your mother did too much crack while you where in the womb and you are just an angry Irish guy who feels entitled to the server, but after 6 years still haven't amassed anything in this game to take to bed with you at night, but whatever helps you sleep.

What other high population arma servers have done this....? Where a streamer isn't involved. I speak from Olympus where this was done and it basically killed them.

That and if people believe this server is the type of Altis Life server you have to be whitelisted for then it will keep people from playing.  I get that there's people who want to ruin things and yeah doing a temporary whitelist stops some but others are just going to wait for it to be lifted.  Might as well just get it over with and get them banned sooner rather than later.

See above. The whitelist isn't solely for the scripters. The whitelist will be removed soon.

Exactly. I know we are trying to keep ban evaders away, but what's happening is that genuine people that just bought the game are gonna click on asylum and not be able to join the server because of the minimum hours. Most people I play with, their first arma experience was on asylum. This is just eliminating tons of potential new players

Edit: does anyone know the actual minimum hours needed to play?

Its not just hours factored in. Also another condition that we won't be disclosing at this time. The restrictions will be removed soon.

Why can't we just get more information??? What specifically is holding back V2? Jesse's schedule? Clint's approval? Easy unloggable exploits? (just examples not being serious)

You basically answered the question yourself...

I have to assume it's incredibly stressful and difficult based on how many blunders the public has seen. Then you have ungrateful people being snarky, and everyone being pessimistic and an asshole.

If we're not 100% accurate with what is said now, everyone picks it the fuck apart. It's annoying. I got pretty agitated last week. Even if we type out status updates on it, no one seems to read them. So figured, it's better to just ignore it, and continue on.

Jesse has been working on making asylum perform better since January if this screenshot is right. I get that this is essentially rewriting the mission file

No that was me trying to make the current live mission work better. Which got rid of the mass kicks and brought the server crashes to light.. We crushed a few issues, but were left with one major roadblock that we couldn't fix. I didn't touch V2 until the repo was created. The rest was work on V1 testing/debugging and trying what I could to fix it...

I liked my '+25% selling illegal stuff'. Not OP. Just makes making money how it should be.

It was never a thing until Poseidon just came around not too long ago... Proper calculations of existing talents/group talents/etc was not factored in very well clearly before implementation... Making money will be as difficult/easy as we determine it should be. Sorry to burst any bubbles.

All this talk of future additions and new content after V2. V2 was announced 4 months ago and when it was announced, claimed to have months of work spent on it.

Can you cite your references? As I haven't been here very long and it was announced April 11th here: http://www.gaming-asylum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/105292-what-is-asylum-v2/. No where in there do we state it was worked on for months prior to that?  We created the Github Repository for the code (which was the BASE Altis Life 3.1.4.8) on March 20th...

Four Developers re-made what took several people years to create in under 4 months, for free?

    Not even accurate...

2 Developers for 4 months. Henry only started contributing to the code repository about a week after Pizza Man was removed from the team (First commit was on July 15th). Until then it was solely Azeh and I. Henry has only been helping on it for about a month or so now...

I strongly agree with a lot of this. So far running V2 on server 3 after the last week, I would say most of it is in a very nice point. Most of it appears to be running well and working. I would like to know what is left on the agenda before its ready to release to live. Whats the status on BH & Medic, whats the reason they arent on the test server? are they simply not written, or just inactive while being reworked. I don't know, but I would be more than happy to test whatever the last few kinks are that would help put V2 out the door sooner.

New content will be nice, but its not necessary for the first push to V2. Get it out to live, Give it a little while for hotfixes on current content first, then new content can come in. I can come in daily and submit a ticket over minute unimportant kinks in V2 no problem, but a priority list of what needs testing and finished would be nice.

As we've stated previously, new content was not to be expected in this. We redid some menus and added some additional functionality to some things. It was well stated I feel that BH/Infamy/Honor was going to be non-existent. Medic is not on the server due to talks of making it whitelisted. However, if the issues the current servers have is still present, we know the cause is completely due to civilian/cop side and we have a lot less to go through. We want to rework the infamy/honor stuff as it's pretty OP in some regards and we want to re-balance some of it. However, having that stuff out too, helps with debugging purposes if we still have issues.

The current stuff we're working on is just some on death related stuff. Azeh and I worked through a few last minute things a bit ago.

since I’ve been a good little boy and not been a dick about the date being pushed back you trynna give us another estimated release week? Ya know, not an exact second

Judging by the lists given to me by the other developers and my own. Based off my current work schedule ASSUMING I avoid this weeks OT then Wednesday. I'll know for sure if I have to work this week by tomorrow night. If I have off, then Wednesday is the aimed date. However, I gotta talk to my GF figure out our schedule for the week. I ideally want Thurs/Fri for debug days and such. We'll see what tomorrow brings. I'll let you guys know. As I told staff in our meeting we will have to have the DB/Forums/Game Servers down during the change over. So we'll be making a post for planned downtime to make everyone aware.

@Jesse Any chance for an update on where yall stand for V2?

Just finished my 3 day work week. Making dinner and such. Then working on some stuff. Will know more tomorrow night or so. However I'd say some point this week. As next week and the following I'll be back to working a ton of OT. Barely dodged the bullet on having to work this week. So I have the week off. And plenty of time to do stuff because my GF will also be occupied with OT and a few other things.

where in my post did i say i wouldn't wait...i was making the point Clearly you didn't read it that they need to give themselves a more realistic timeline. and thats all cause its holding up a bunch of stuff that people want to do.

Sorry I couldn't predict 3 weeks of working 66hrs each week... I had 3 OT Days a week for the last 3 weeks, I had a whole 1 day off a week... I don't chose when my work says we need everyone working. Sorry that timelines change. The original was quite accurate for this week.

  9. Thanks for those of you who understand. For those of you who don't, I'm sorry and obviously there is not much more I can say to make you understand.

We took an absolutely empty basic OLD (3.1.4.8) Altis Life and are trying to make it Asylum. It's not just copy paste, it's a lot of work and a lot of debugging. As a lot of this code hasn't been updated or adjusted. We've also added in some new stuff like vehicle syncs between restarts, new housing/vehicle inventory systems, several new menus. All this stuff requires time to be done correctly. If we release a mission with errors. How do we know the issues we may experience are from the KNOWN released issues or if it's some deeper issue? It's not a good practice. Projects almost never meet deadlines unfortunately. If you've ever had your city re-do a road... you know this... weather changes.

However, for those who have seen what we have going as far as staff and Henry/Azeh, I think we'd all agree we've got quite a bit done and are close to where we want to be.
