Buff Swat and Constables

Recommended Posts

Currently the morale in the APD is at an all time low I feel like ever since the "thread" people have been feeling very disconnected with how to deal with feds and banks for example i was on cop yesterday and as usual CEO of fed / bbnb was doing their 20 feds in a restart and all the cops i mean literally all the cops gave up after 2 lives because they feel burnt out even Austin rogers who is a dedicated career cop even said "after 2 lives I'm not going back there" this just shows me that cops need a buff i have a couple of suggestions that can help this issue

another issue is higher tier gear is not spread out evenly among the ranks which is a huge issue when you are fighting all day.

1. Make vans accessible to constables

- fighting a fed with no higher ups to pull vans and set up is aids its nearly impossible why is a van corporal plus only? it's not armored what so ever.

2. give constables better starting gear

- instead of spawning with a spar 16 make it to where we spawn with a mx and arco no one is using that shitty red dot that we spawn with it should be change to an arco atleast if you don't want to give us mxs

- ability to buy carrier lites but not armor stack currently we get a level 2 vest make it to where we can buy carrier lites like captains and LTs which are level 3

3. give us prowlers and qilins instead of just sport hatchbacks

- constables have no armored vehicles at all we should be able to buy these to at least bridge the gap between armored and unarmored cars

let me know other suggestions and additions you think the apd needs to be better equipped

I agree with the van change - 0 armor and it's not really practical outside of the Fed Reserve / Prison break so I don't see how it could get abused or something of that nature. It just allows Constables to essentially be able to help setup faster and not have to wait around for a corp+ to pull a van.

As cool as it'd be to spawn in with a free MX + useful scope, I can only imagine the further crying/complaining that would take place from civs. Yeah, Spar feels useless when it's just fed event after fed event after fed event but I don't think spawning with a free MX is the solution.

As for Qillins/Prowlers, perhaps (to potentially balance things out) give Constables the ability to buy them but without doors/make that add-on corporal+? Could always test it with/without the ability to purchase doors and see how it affects events/routine patrolling. Hatch's are paper thin and dying 4 times on the way to an event never feels good :FeelsBadMan:

its literally just leadership problems, 7.5 cops online and LT austin rogers with 10 million in his bank is running around pulling hatchbacks instead of ifrits. Address the issue at its core, the fed before that the APD pushed 8 over south west and could have easily won if things were a little different. APD will be buffed when they promote players that arent shit and arent pussies.

That being said, + 1 to this suggestion, the Constables need it.

Sorry. Any cop that has fingers must be blacklisted and never promoted for 2 years beforehand.

Spar 16>MX. don’t @ me

Spar over MX… Could do with a ARCO over a red dot sight.

+1 to vans. SWAT slots with a 12 man fed you only get 5 chances at swat in paper thin striders…seems kinda dumb. If you’re swat it should be accessible regardless until a Feds over.

Rest of the thread is -1

MXC id +1 but not MX, that’s a prestige thing for Sgt+. I’m 50/50 on this part, it’s a 3k gun man go spend it lol.

Corporal+ UC get them, and the rank really isn’t that hard to get imo. Marked Sgt+ get them as well now.

Marked Prowlers sure, but I’d say no to quilins, there should be something that separates the constables and corporals. Again I don’t think corporal is hard to get and go for.

Because the base rank should not get all these extra tools and abilities, we want to incentivize people to do well in the apd and get promoted, in return we are giving them more gear.

Im all for giving lower ranked officers new toys but if we put stuff too low on the totem pole, nobody’s going to want to move up. Not to mention now some of the stuff that sets Sgt and Cpl apart is now moved to constable, so you get the same gear as a corporal but congrats now you have double the hours and have to do out of game activities. Same thing goes with SWAT, I’d like to see more swat slots, but give them too many slots and nobody will want to move up in ranks because they have a perm mk at fed events, and we all know how many people already complain about that…

I would however like to see a few more SWAT vehicles and a few more SWAT slots and in return we have the wave system implemented where SWAT is either forced by the server to push together or is policy per SWAT CMD.

I agree with that, SWAT needs some kind of buffs. No point progressing upto the higher ranks if you got everything you need by the time you hit corporal…

🤣 every time i play with Austin he pulls Ifrits for fed events. Also sorry if the APD doesn't promote people for knowing how to shoot a gun, that's kinda not the point. Sounds like someone got a corporal rank they don't deserve and shit talks higher ups on a thread like a pussy.

Will say I agree with some minor points here. Won't name names but some higher-ups don't like pulling armored vehicles. Hell, even Corporals don't pull hunters. Give SWAT the ability to pull armor for everyone or change the design of the Federal Events from slaughter funnel to something that could be pushed without getting ripped. Fighting a bank on the civilian side is unironically so boring, it's just duck shooting.

Honestly it's the dichotomy of being a higher up. If you pull a single Ifrit/Strider/Hunter most of the time it doesn't do all that much to help the fight. Sometimes it does but that's usually more because you have good players on cop who use it right. If you pull 3 Ifrits and win then the Rebels blow up the TS and Forums with "Cops op they pulled too much armor. Imagine needing armor to win a fight wah wah wah" and then if you pull 3 Ifrits and lose then its "Haha we chopped your ifrits and camped you all night fuck you" and you are out the money you spent. Not to mention the rats always trying to pick lock them every single time you pull them. It becomes so much of a fucking hassle every time to be laser focused on father stretch being an annoying rat using every glitch/exploit/moment in time to be a pain in the ass and worrying about the rebels getting the armor and turning it against you all night and being even more of a problem. And god forbid you have a Captain on who wants to pull and use an armed ghosthawk after being shit on all night by the same crybabies when that shit requires MAJOR luck and skill to do jack shit with.

I will stop shedding APD ifrits when APD stops driving my ifrit away from fed MID FIGHT to seize it. Nobody cares that you pulled a ton of armor. We welcome it. Never once has APD pulled armor and it been a complaint. I literally have clips of us in discord seeing armor pull up to bank and the whole vc cheering that it isnt sniper elite and hatchback slam meta.

I have literally had Rebels come to the HQ in cuffs going "GIVE ME YOUR HIGHER UP I WANT YOUR HIGHER UP YOU GUYS USED TOO MUCH ARMOR" screaming in their mics... there was also a whole thread of rebels crying about DK using an armed Ghosthawk. Like we can't do right in y'alls eyes. It's either I rip your heads from 600 out and get "Wah you lethaled me why you lethal me?" or "Wah too much armor wah"

correct my if im wrong but wasnt there a post bitching about higher ups pulling armor? it just seems to be a simple case of the apd cant win either way, they are damned if they do dammed if they dont with this community.

Buffing SWAT could include this, if the event requires 7 swat let a corporal+ be able to spawn 2 ifrits, if 5-6 swat slots only allow 1 ifrit be pulled by corporal+, if less than 5 no ifrits allowed. As Zdeat stated corporal is not a hard rank to achieve, Avoids the higher ups banks being deplenished from Father pick locking every police vehicle and chopping it. And pushes people to get SWAT as well as corporal. This also could only be a thing until LTs feel they have a good cushion of money to pull ifrits more often, obviously if we have more than 3 ifrits for a bank its a little crazy.

Definitely +1 for constables getting marked prowler. It can suck when you're stuck with nothing but hatches (Cause let's be honest, none of the other vehicles constable can get are useful, they're all strictly worse than the hatch)

I agree SWAT hasn't been given an appropriate boost for the change in tides in a long time. The previous issue with the removal of the ghost hawks kind of sucks but I can agree the policy did end up being highly disregarded, and while incredibly weak they were highly lethal in appropriate hands which APD had a very small few of those hands. Supplementing the removal of the ghost hawk arming with some SWAT boosts and some additional assistance for the poor RIF ranks seems like a far more appropriate way of keeping the factions fair in that struggle for balancing.

  • Re-evaluate the swat mechanics
    • I'd like to see uncapped swat slots, or just increase base swat count by 1, while keeping the current +1 to swat slots per additional civ present.
    • Swat vehicle garage should be scaled with slot count if there wont be any additional armor added to it, if swat slots exceed X number then allow swat to pull 4 vehicles rather than just 2 or so on.
      • That seems like a far easier change to push for than adding new armor options to the swat garage.

Cadet's, Constables, and Corporals is a harder matter, it's not really them having more equipment that's the issue. They could have all the equipment they could want but a sense of progression is sadly required since the APD is the only form of roleplay that's required and expected for the server, and yes it's also mostly a skill thing at the same time. I've always expressed how I'm garbage at combat but when I'm not mentally drained from constant fed fighting then my strategizing and planning can be top notch at times. Sadly we cant just shove 6.5mm's, carrier lights, and hunters into their hands and expect them to be better, not that much better at least.

  • Re-evaluate the RIF Equipment
    • Cadet's can access either the Off-road or the SUV in the cop garage rather than just a quad.
      • They are still sub par vehicles and policy can be set to only allow them to be used for federal event transportation or something if need be.
    • Constables can access van's and Prowlers in the cop garage.
      • I honestly don't see why they don't have access to the vans already in the first place, that should be a no brainer. Though I still agree with zdeat about just having a prowler to keep that sense of progression.
    • Change Constable+ or Corporal+ starter kit spar to at least spawn with an ARCO or an RCO.
      • Nobody is using that garbage RDS sight. Though if you still want to have that progression just go for the Corporals.

I'd suggest Corporals getting a carrier light on a marked slot too but they already get it on UC, plus it was a hard fought fight and a half just to allow Sergeants to have them so that wont ever happen, sorry.

And Higher up's pulling armor happens a lot, not as much as pre wipe for sure I'll admit but it makes sense since the APD money making is a garbage system that kinda forces cops to robocop full tickets just to even have a chance at going positive at the end of the day, and they are paying full price for ifrits and their upgrades... I'd *bump bump* a temporary armor discount to encourage them to pull more armor but eh, I know thats gonna get a lot of immediate entitled complaints so no point.

Could add a rank in between constable and corporal that gives better weapons and some new vehicles but no access to cpl exclusive things like slots. The rank could also be something that you get from just being a experienced constable and given when a certain requirement is hit like hrs.

Don't really see why not, this would make the more useful things exclusive to people that have a good amount of trust but dont suck enough cock to get voted up a rank. While still keeping the value of becoming a corporal. Sometimes it takes people months to get CPL why not give a little preview and give this new rank qilins, vans, and a better gun or something.

The motive to go for CPL to get real armor, exclusive slots, a change at sgt, etc would still be there

I mean CPL is EXTREMELY easy to get... it's literally 3 things...

1. Be active and friendly on cop

2. Know the guidebook fairly well

3. Don't be a dumb ass

Oh and one last thing get some form of server staff even if you fail all 3 of the things above you still get a pity rank at least thats how it used to be.

Sorry that you spend most of your time dealing with roleplay gangs in hatchbacks, but I promise nobody that actually fights events has ever complained about too much armor. The only complaint was the Ghosthawk, and nobody was even really mad about it at fed events, its the fact that it got pulled during random patrolling to fight us IN TELOS on multiple occasions.

Its amazing how out of touch you are. But thank you for trying.

Roleplay gangs that decide to camp cops all night after capping all the cartels ye sure. And I promise you they have... and the Ghosthawk situation I wasn't there but the 1 time i've seen it used it was useless for most of the time. But just keep yappin your trap.

I've been playing consistently the last couple years in multiple different gangs. I've been here since 2014 and have seen multiple different metas. You admit IN YOUR POST being involved in ONE ghosthawk situation.

Thank you for trying to tell me how the server works though! Your input is valued.
