Should we wipe?

Would you agree with a wipe? All player data, everyone would start with a fresh account.

I would enjoy a wipe every once in a awhile. (Bank/Gang bank/house invt,/vechs only)

Pros: Brings life to the server, drug fields poppiin, more fights around the map, more fun. server less boring

Cons: some ppl are going to quit because they dont want to grind a little for a couple weeks. and like someone said it could kill the server completely.

If you wipe the server I can guarantee the majority of the players who have wealth will not return. I grinded my ass off to get where i'm at currently, so If you wipe the server its a slap in the face to me, and all the people who have played this for years, and grinded for their houses, and wealth. I see all these new players encouraging a wipe saying it gives them a chance to rise to the top of the leaderboards because the leaderboards is only filled with people who have played for years. I took a break for 6 months came back recently with only 3k, and now I am sitting on the top 10. It is possible for new players to get on the leaderboards they just have to have motivation to grind money like I did. Please do not reset the server it will not be good for the community. I can say I will not return if a server wipe does occur.

like I said, if they wipe the point isnt because new players dont have money. its to bring life to map.

Just seems like a massive risk to the server, could easily see it being the death of it like Sean pointed out. If the main idea is to bring the server to an even level for new players I think it will not have the desired effect. The biggest obstacle for new players is the learning curve, not the money or housing. While it's crazy that housing has become scarce and expensive, money really doesn't matter at the end of the day it's learning how to use it. Leroy has hundreds of millions but is still more or less on par with fresh spawns in the actual basic aspects of the game, for example. It's all the time invested in learning the rules and how to make/use money that matters. Housing will be the biggest make or break, and I see that being what drives most people to say no. Perhaps if each person can choose to keep one or two houses they own it would be better, but at the end the same houses that everyone wants will be gone in half an hour of playing and the wipe will have made no difference.

Blake, and I were saying the same thing. If you wipe houses its going to be a race to who can get 150k first, and get the prime real estate.

Money is very easy to make nowadays and the only thing holding back new players is the talent system.  Just give people all their talent points as soon as they start, the grind for them is stupid and it's no fun for new players and annoying for older players who have to deal with people who don't have the basic shit.

Housing will just be a race to get the best houses and the same problem that is happening now will just manifest again within two weeks.  Also, I'm not sure you want to have illegal areas incredibly busy as that hurts new players more than anyone due to the insane skillgap on Arma.

Only real suggestion I have is to somehow tackle the massive inflation of money. People just have too much of it. You only really need a mil to be set for everything you need to play and things are all cheap (even 'end game' items like sui's, speedbombs, LMGs). Overall though at the end of the day Arma 3 is getting close to being a 10 year old game. Wiping the server occasionally isn't going to reinvent the wheel and bring loads of new players. I really appreciate and love all the content being added lately that keeps people who do play and have been long time players consistently coming back. I hope that instead of trying to beat a dead horse on Arma you choose to branch Asylum out into other games. You seem to have the talent to develop servers across games and the autistic community to dedicate time to it. Consider branching out Mitch

I do believe adding another server to accommodate the new players and give them a chance to learn and fight for control of the server is a good idea, it would more then likely keep the older player base who have worked years to obtain what they have happy, while providing an opportunity for the new players to not be hindered by us.

if you want to wipe your player base go ahead xD

As mentioned above, add a house tax. maybe like 2-3k per house per day and if you dont log on at least once a week and pay it the tax gets higher and higher (1mill max) or until the bank takes your house and you lose everything in it.

But wiping this kind of server will kill it for sure. might have 10-20 people daily but it wont be successful like it has been.

make a new server with a new map, dont allow data to transfer over. atleast for alittle while.

This was tried with Asylum's modded server and it didn't work out.  The mods were also buggy to be fair, but there is no denying that people were turned off by starting fresh when they could instead go back to a server where they had money.

A lot of dedicated community members who've been around for a long time that helped shape asylum the way it is now will likely not return after a wipe. A lot of time has went into the build up of homes, possessions, stats, etc.  On the other hand a wipe could bring new active faces around and give them a opportunity to be at even grounds to grow. My personal vote is "No" though.

Agreeable, but I still give it a hard no

If anything do a money wipe but anything farther than that in my personal opinion would be to much.

there's no point. the same thing is going to happen again, especially in BBNB. we're going to all make 50k buy a loadout go do mental asylum or fed make 200-500k a person and repeat it over and over and over until we're all back to our current bank accounts. wiping the money is just not it. I'd recommend the devs think of some massive cash sinkhole that will make players lose a lot of money but have a lot of fun. Obviously the casino didnt work, maybe add some more games? Roulette is pretty simple to make. but maybe make coin flips with other players? there just needs to be a money blackhole to deflate the economy. I'd say 3 months ago BBNB was bringing 5 million dollars a day into the economy. maybe let us buy crates to unbox for like 100k each and we could get things like vehicles, skins, guns, horns all random value. like you might get hatchback in one and a .50 in another.

Thats a great way to kill asylum. I'm sure most of out player base plays rust or tarkov, and is tired of having their stuff wiped after some time. Although it is fun to start fresh on a game, I just dont think asylum fits under that catagory. Especially to all those people that have been grinding for years. Just losing hours of grind just to restart it again.

Coin flips would be fuckin lit!!^^^^ Also turning in game currency into skins would definitely make people spend the money with no remorse lol

Coin flips or a game type would be amazing! Something to bring some life to the server and make me wanna spend money on things other then real estate. This server doesn't need a wipe, it needs something that is going to make us want to spend money. not go to the location to buy property to camp or sell. we need a local area maybe more of a peaceful zone. that we can spawn in. that has gamblng , dmv, market and general store maybe add a dance floor to encourage the subscriptions and expand on that while making older items accessible to newer player with in game currency, or even new items to have donors still want to use in game currency or crates with very low chances to help the inflation issue, and give purpose. areas like this will cause attraction and purpose. the casino is big, and fucking lonely man haha. bring it closer with a more common area type feel. that will have people around when in the mood to afk and hang out. JUST FOOD FOR THOUGHT -You added the ability to sit- use it and make it a more lively place so we use it
