Asylum Community, Its been a few weeks and we wanted to update everyone on where we are, and what the next steps are for Asylum. We have kept you all in the dark, a mistake that we will not make

probably temporarily have more vehicles thant normally possible until some get destroyed, but we're still figuring out all the exact details for the merge

What are your plans in regards to the marketing and advertising for the server? How are you going to make our server stand out and bring more population over? We need an influx of new people if not previous members that used to play. Are you going to add incentives for people that are able to influence and convince others into playing (ie streamers)?

 

 

How do you plan on drawing in people once the server is back online?

why are you guys sticking with s1 dom? most of the community want s2 back like before my advice listen to the community because they are everything. Your going the right way now but you guys still not listening to the community your fixing issue and making a bigger issue.

 

Also my suggestion is add mods to the server you guys have devs now (i think) start doing something new like modded guns or modded cars anything thats new will make the server feel newer and have a new start and new staff team. IMO what killed the server is the server has been the same since 2016 or 2017 dont expect people to play on a server has been the same for 8 or 7 years its just getting boring. Bring something new to the table we have trust in the new staff team.

because it’s an Altis Life server. how delusional do you have to be to not understand how the “life server” part of asylum is going to take priority over domination.

ya gave power to people that have proven they cant handle a little bit of internet power in the past. 

You're running a life server on an 11 year old game. You dont have much margin of error when it comes to foot traffic. Especially when GTA just outshines this shit on an "RP" basis.  you aint gonna win that battle. 


 

💯 unless dis one gets hidden by a certain someone again, accept that this is my opinion about someone elses opinion... wtf get a grip on life... how sad can you be... just saying...

I understand that you guys need to lock the server to work on the major update, and when the 40 days are up, I know theres going to be a surge of returning and new players joining asylum i don't doubt that. However, shouldn't you have locked the server like 20 days or so in advance of the update release date? This locked timer seems excessive, in my opinion sort of like a "shut up and wait" to the most devoted players on the server, like me, when it was at it's lowest

 I 100% agree. Wiping everyone's progress was the biggest mistake the sever made. The reasoning behind it was flawed, as people having larger sums of money is what made the fighting part of the server so much better. And wiping everyone's talents was a big smack in the face towards those that were dedicated players who worked hard to get to where they were. It's weird how people didnt get a chance to enjoy the endgame perks for too long before they are essentially punished for reaching that point. 

 

The server could have continued to introduce new content for players to enjoy, instead of just erasing everyone's progress.

Bro go play cod if you want constant fighting. Like rando said, it's a life server. Role play was the main point as to why people came and stayed. It is part of the brand. 

People have enjoyed Coca-Cola for years, and it would be dumb for Coca-Cola to suddenly say "hey we shouldnt make soda anymore. We should switch to burgers."

Just make a Gmod hl2 RP server LOL.

In all seriousness I think it's time to move on to better things. No major change is going to come out of this because there is only so much you can do with Vanilla arma since there are no main game updates anymore. Wipe was definitely the right move but like someone else said awhile ago "I don't remember who" It was the same thing as before the wipe. The only difference that I noticed was the new UI at the bottom of the screen and that's it. You guys merging the data base from v2 to v3 makes me not want to play even more now because I just get all my old stuff back WHICH I DON'T WANT! I enjoyed playing like my life mattered instead of having so many millions I just didn't care. Wish you guys the best however.

I don't think the server is dead in all honesty, and we can't know for sure what the outcome of the future will be for the server. Wipe brought the server to a height I haven't seen in years because we all truly love asylum. New ownership now split among 3 means the chances of previous owners actions happening again are very low. The community as players from years and years ago have to stop showing negativity on the community forums, saying its over and its going to die just shows that you internally want this to succeed and would give it another shot if tempted. But if you truly do not plan on playing on the server don't let others new to the community think poorly about the past or upcoming future. This is also a reason some of you are being "silenced" on the forums. New ownership has not been given a fair chance when rightfully due, for all the work they also contributed to the wipe "voluntarily", but are no longer volunteers so time is dedicated where needed. Hype for server release in November will be high again I have faith. As mentioned in another forum post if arma 3 being a 10 year old game is a factor in future low population on the server the owners did mention to moving into other games, but realize that is a completely different coding language from older games and would take much needed time to develop among more than the handful of developers asylum has. Gaming-Asylum as a name will go on.

where is the people? lmao. The server was ranked 60+ even before the wipe it was max 40-60 pop in a huugge map which that lead the old staff to wipe the server and tbh they succeed for 2 weeks they were getting 140 pop but as we all expected also the staff team that it will die in few weeks.

thats why i was saying change it to modded because even if you will get back the v2 database it litellary would be the same as before 40-60 pop whats new? what gonna change? a few scripts?

 

if you change it to modded there is only 1 modded server thats getting kind of high pop while altis life have 2 server and both of them gets 150+ while asylum getting 0-60 do you think you can keep up with them by staying on altis life? if im new to arma 3 i will see which server have the highest pop and i will join it thats how they get bigger and bigger while when you see a server with small pop who will join it? except the old players and the staff team

good luck. hope you can figure it out. I tried to help yall over the years and you see what i happens when you don't listen to the guy with 12k hours lol..

updated aesthetic of player roles like mitch's owner tag can make the forums look more alive.

all the gaming forums i see with names having certain colors/effects makes the active users at bottom of page and posts always made the forums look better.

adding new colors for x posts can help make forums active cuz ppl will wanna get cooler looking name tags.
